Looks are deceiving! Too good to be true.
I barely know where to start with my endless list of disappointment towards this Amazon purchase. We were so excited to have ordered what seemed like a quality chicken coop (that just so happened to match our house) and what we received was anything but.First of all, the screws that were chosen to secure the panels of the run seriously surprised me. Not in a good way. I actually thought there were pieces missing. Especially, since you claim this to be predator-proof. Not even close! Maybe from a feral cat and that would be about it. Second of all, one panel was broken in several places. Only further proving how easily any animal could pry this apart. I ordered the metal extension and chicken coop with the welded metal in the hopes that it would be excellent quality. Sorry to say that this also had spots that appeared to have the paint scraped off and the rust marks had already set in.The chicken coop itself was adorable until I began to put it together. The "patent pending" click tight construction was tight alright! As in, the pieces were obviously miscut or mismeasured. Unfortunately, I was unable to get on (more than halfway) one post and was unable to remove it before packing it back up to send back. I apologize that it had to remain on for the re-package. I fit all the pieces back in the box to the best ability that the circumstances would allow. I even had to use another box to help make it close. This in no way represents me as a person. I was appalled to send a box back looking this way, however, it was unavoidable. The poor UPS driver that had to come collect this mess.I would like to add that I had taken the day off to build this coop and situate it in our yard. Instead of a productive day, there is nothing but scraped hands and broken fingernails to show for it. My boys arrived home from school on the bus, excited to see the coop all built; only to find me, a disheveled, sweaty mess, packing everything away like a tortured game of Jenga. Not only are they disappointed, but also, our neighbors whose chickens we promised to take for them when they move. We were scheduled to receive said chickens this weekend. As a company that designs and builds chicken coops and other livestock supplies, I do hold you to a higher standard. I cannot forget to mention the ultra convincing video that your company has on the Amazon website. You really got me with that one! I was sold! If only your producer also worked in quality control!I am sad that this coop and extension run did not work for us. Maybe we got a lemon.

Questionable Weather Resistance & Durability.
Be aware: This should only built in a weather protected area such as a back yard with a solid wall wood fence. It is made with mostly 1x2 pieces for framing including the support under the house, and the pen area. I had to anchor mine with t-straps to 4x4 posts dug in beside the back corners of the house. Then we added extra support on the bottom at the back of the lower pen and in the middle under the front half of the house and the entire system sitting on cement blocks with chicken wire under everything. We also installed better door lock systems to keep racoons, skunks, and possums out on the two pen entry areas and window, plus a stronger hasp lock setup under the nesting box lid. The wood used in this application is not the best of quality for long life or weather resistance. I would only put a maximum of 6 free range chickens in this space or you could put in 8 Banties but I wouldn't do anymore, it wouldn't be a environment they would thrive in.

Buy this with confidence!!! My wife and I LOVE this coop! And so do the new chicks!
I read the reviews below and wonder what they got. I'm told they have upgraded their design. What I got was exactly what I expected and paid for which is an entry-level coop that was solid in construction and durable. Sure, there could be some things that could have been better, but overall it is exactly as advertised. I will say it wasn't the easiest to assemble, but as long as you can follow a pictorial assembly instruction list and are handy with tools you should have no problems. I read a comment below that it was not durable. I can dispute that by saying it was dropped off the end of my pickup (a little misunderstanding on what "down" meant) and it survived without damage. I read another review that questioned the weather resistance and can tell you that we got hit with a couple major downpours with high winds and the chicks stayed high & dry. Another comment mentioned the floor kept falling out. That can't happen with the new design. If all of the negative comments below are due to the old design you can be assured SummerHawk heard you load and clear! They are also very responsive. I contacted them due to a UPS delivery issue and they responded quickly and professionally. All and all a good buy from a good company. I will not hesitate to make my upgrade purchase from SummerHawk Ranch!

Cute but so not functional
I would not recommend this coop. It's cute, which is why I got it, but there are several things wrong with it. First, the porch section is an extension to the house basically, so it does not share floor boards with the house. The result is that it sags. To be solid and supported, the same boards should have spanned beneath the house and the porch.Inside, the roost poles were both too short, so they kept falling off. I had to add little wood pieces underneath and on both sides so they would stop falling down. The floor panels of the house are also just a bit too short, so the hens have knocked them out of place multiple times. The panels are removable to clean them, but it is a real pain. I wish I had bought a different model with a pull out drawer for cleaning. It would make such a huge difference.Overall, yes, this is cute, but DO NOT buy it. You will only wish you hadn't.

This is trash. Don’t buy it.
If I could give it a half star I would. This is hands down the biggest waste of money I’ve ever purchased. While it’s very cute and very fashionable, it isn’t worth it. It’s a piece of trash. The product itself is very cheaply made. Children’s toys come with better screws. The wood is flimsy and breaks very easily. The part that opens up on the run is very VERY cheaply made. The instructions are all sorts of messed up and backwards, just over all not in order. This whole thing is a disaster. It makes me wanna cry. The only reason I’m not sending this trash back is because my sweet husband spent hours putting it together and trying to make me happy. It’d break his heart if I sent it back. And my chickens need a place to go and I don’t have the money or time to buy and put another up.
