Q: Would these be good for hiking?

They could be the only concern is the weight. I think you would have to try them to see if it is right for you. You can always return if they are to heavy.

Q: Is the insole removable?

Yes it is. I pulled it out and replaced it with something better. That said, these shoes are not very comfortable and I would not recommend them.

Q: how much do they weigh?

I’m sure weight depends on size. My men’s 13 weigh almost exactly one pound per shoe. They do not feel heavy while wearing them either.

Q: Understand that this is not completely waterproof. But would it be suitable for walking around in the rain? Without getting the feet soaked?

In a light drizzle you’ll be fine but in a heavy rain, your feet will get soaked.
