Groz 01102 4" Precision Machinist Square, 48 Microns Squareness

Accurate (as far as I can tell)
Just a hobby woodworker, but these squares seem (by the tests I could do) as square as possible. No deviations along the length of any of them. Have used them for setting blades to 90 and marking wood.

No Case
I checked the squareness of these against a Starrett square and all were so close to it I could not spot any variation. So the squares appear to be of good quality. The reason for the three stars is, as others have pointed out, no case. The product description clearly says a case is included and therefor should be. We've all seen reviews and Q&A's attached to incorrect items so these things are questionable, at best, to base a purchase on. Fortunately, I have a 3D printer and was able to make my own case but shouldn't have had to.

Nicked blades on the Two-inch
Bought 2 of the little buggers (2" x 2-13/16") for my shop aprons (one for wood and one for welding/metal fab). Both squares arrived nicked along the inside edge of the blades, enough to cause a few thousandths-inch of daylight when I nest either square inside the other. I MIGHT be able to place the squares under magnification and remove the nicks with a fine water stone, but 1) I shouldn't have to, and 2) not sure if I should even attempt it.Even with the nicks, the little 2" buggers are EXCELLENT for quick checks of woodworking, welding, assembly, etc, but I wouldn't even attempt to certify them for a toolroom.4-star product because of the nicks, otherwise 5 stars.

Ehhh, average
With tools, the old saying you get what you pay for is definitely true, these tools are okay, they arrived covered in oil and I had to spend a few minutes cleaning them up which is not a big deal but you can certainly tell when a manufacturer cares and when they don't

Accurate
Accurate, edges are smooth enough not to damage the surface of wood, and sharp enough with a sight burr to stay in place held with one hand while marking. Very pleased with this square. Make sure to oil regularly and store away from humidity as these will rust if not cared for.

PHOTOS VERY MISLEADING
Have not had opportunity to use yet; however they appear to be top quality. My complaint is the packaging for the squares. All of the photos for model # 01110, including the GROZ corporate photos show a molded plastic snap close case with molded cavities for each individual square. Mine arrived in a small cardboard box with only very flimsy thin Styrofoam separators. The squares were labeled with only the GROZ name and logo, not the detailed descriptive information shown in all the photos (This obviously in no way impair the use or the accuracy of the squares). Granted, the descriptive text of this product did not specifically state that the hard plastic case was included, EVERY SINGLE photo along side the narrative descriptions show the case. A little more corporate accuracy and consistency is expected. One last observation: these squares are made in India, yet the info shown in the Amazon ad contains only references to GROZ being a USA company.

Felt cheated by the different name embossed.
The name embossed on the tool is different from what's in the pictures in the product profile page. Felt cheated about that. It's like fraud. You sell white n sucker but call it black n Decker on the selling page.

Accurate
This is used for woodworking. The square was right on when compared to my Starrett 12 inch machinist square. How square can you get for the value.

Very small and a bit odd to use
Not the most precise one and also it's very small, and makes it hard to use, depending on applications

Not as accurate as claimed
Bought this for 3D printer work. Advertised as 48 microns squareness, but is actually listed as 72 microns on packaging.

Scratch marks
I'm sure the square is accurate but surface finish is just ok. Has lots of scratch marks, probably because of insufficient packaging.
