Love this jacket! Sized down!
First off, I own several Carhartt jackets and sweaters. I am 5’8, 175-180 pounds with a 38B bra size. So basically the size chart has never been very helpful for me who is between sizes. I will say I’m my experience with women’s Carhartt outerwear, anything made of their “quick duck” or “washed duck” material is going to run a little big. Also, anything that has that ribbed elastic band on the cuffs are going to run smaller/shorter in the length and arms. For example, i have a few of Carhartt’s bomber jackets. Both in women’s large and they fit perfect, room for a hoodie underneath even though the sleeves still ride up while driving. But my Carhartt clarksburg hoodies best fit me in size medium, they don’t ride up and are very flattering for a relaxed fit hoodie. I like to layer here in Florida because our winters are ridiculous! Freezing in the mornings and picnic weather by noon! So when I first purchased this, I ordered a large and although cute and comfortable, it drowned me! So I sent it back for a medium and it’s perfect! With and without a hoodie! I fully intend to purchase one in black as well next season! I absolutely love how perfectly stylish, durable, soft and super warm this jacket is! Must have for any Carhartt fan girl!

Armpits...
I LOVED the fact that it comes with a 2-way zipper! I can zip it all the way up, then ease the bottom open a bit so I can sit without straining the bottom connection of the zipper. I spent $50 on my last jacket replacing the one-way zipper with a 2-way zipper, so this was a relief. I liked everything about the jacket (just got it today), except that the armpits seem tight. I don't wear tight-fitting tops, so there's usually some extra fabric around my shoulder/underarm, and my other winter jackets from other makers have room to allow for a slightly bulkier top, but this one doesn't. Not sure if I will keep it... Maybe I'll try a size Large and see how that feels. Another reviewer said hers shrunk a little when washed, so this makes me even more leery of the Medium and somewhat more hopeful about a Large.UPDATED 1/28/2019 Received the Large from Dunagrees.com ( a "second", but I can find the flaw) and it's going to work fine. The shoulders are a hair too wide and the sleeves a hair too long, but the extra room in the armholes is perfect for me when wearing a medium-weight sweater under the jacket. The waist tabs allow me to cinch in the waist a bit to give a more flattering silhouette. The lining is thick enough for the temps I'm going to wear the jacket in, and the outer fabric is a little softer than the men's version (fine with me, tho some reviewers didn't like that). All in all, I love the jacket! For reference, I'm 5'4" and about 138 lbs.

I really want to love this coat...
I really want to love this coat... but it's just too big. I followed Carhartt's detailed fit guide and ordered the size small as recommended, yet I'm swimming in this thing. I am 5' 5" and weigh 127 lbs. It fits perfectly through the shoulders which is the only reason I'm keeping it. Any smaller and moving my arms out in front of me would be uncomfortable. The way the coat fits on the model in the photos is a bit like how it fits on me (I should have known!). There is a ton of room in the sleeves, around my midsection, and hips. Maybe it is meant for layering? Although I bought this coat for functional purposes and was not expecting to make a fashion statement, it does make me feel bell-shaped. Cold air comes in from the bottom unless I have both hands in the pockets pulling the coat closer to my body. The zipper allows opening and closing in both directions which isn't a must-have feature for me, but for some, I can see how this would be a nice option. The zipper is very difficult to separate (in fact, the coat is on the floor behind me because I gave up and just stepped out of it. Annoying but not a deal-breaker.The things I love about it though are its many pockets and super soft lining. I have a Walls coat which is stiff... this one is almost floppy and I love that. When I pull it tight around me, it is super warm and comfortable (and I live in Northern Wisconsin). All in all, would I recommend this jacket? Yes, just prepare for a baggier fit or order smaller.

Love it!
I love this coat. Needed something durable to wear at the ranch during the winter. It's very warm. I was afraid it would be stiff, but it isn't at all. I'm 5'1", 118 lbs. and ordered the small. it fits just like I wanted it to - not tight and not too big. The sleeves are too long, but that's bc I'm petite, so I just roll them up once. I love all of the pockets. There are two pockets outside on each side. One to put things in with a flap and another to put your hands in to keep them warm. The lining is also very pretty. It's very good quality. I'm very happy with my purchase!

just what i hoped it would be like
I love the softer feel of this, its not as stiff as my other carhart coats. I needed an every day type coat and this is perfect, lots of pockets for being outside and doing things. Its not for the extreme cold that we get here, but my other carharrt coats are great for that, but this one is a little lighter and works great for every day use and shorter trips outside at -30. Size is what I expected for medium, I can get a heavy shirt on under it no problem, without feeling cramped. Love it

Great jacket, well made, not that warm
I purchased this for three trips I knew I needed a warm jacket for in the mountains this past holiday season. Each trip had temps varying from 40-17 degrees. While this jacket was nice, it did not keep me warm. I ended up using an old stadium jacket I have had for years. This jacket continues to hang in my closet now. More than likely will sell it. Disappointed. It is good quality and well made, just not warm enough.

Warm, durable, fits and looks great!
Warmest coat I own. The flannel lining is soft and warm as is the Sherpa collar. The duck fabric is durable and tough but flexible enough to get your chores done. I usually wear a medium jacket so that’s what I ordered and it fits well. Enough room for a hoodie underneath but not so roomy that it feels too big. I usually have trouble with sleeves being too short but these are just right. The coat is also long enough that it sits below the waist and doesn’t let in cold air even though the bottom of the coat isn’t gathered. I highly recommend this coat!

Best coat ever!
Love the fit, love the warmth, love the colour and love the price. It's exactly what I wanted and I know I'll enjoy for many years to come. Extremely well sewn with triple stitching and enough pockets for all your needs. I highly recommend it.

Waited to long time to finally get the Coat and I don’t even wear it . I
I’m 5’7” and medium build so I ordered a large and found the coat short in length but big on the upper part of the shoulders and the sleeves were to long . I feel the coat was made more for Mans body then a females .

The fit is generous. I’m 5’5” 122lbs and ordered a small.
The snaps were difficult to do upinitially but got easier with use. The fit is generous. The coat is durable and works well in a construction scenario.

Feels light to wear.
It is very light to wear and appears warm. I gave it as a present and I have not heard any complaints. Well made.
