Damaged and sad.
Bought it too add to my collection but it came pretty beat up. I have no qualms about a little crease or rub marks but the back cover of my book is ripped and bent pretty darn bad. Would rather keep the book and catch a refund than to have to hassle with returns and replacements. Oh well.

Great artwork--weak story
The artwork is great, but the story is weak and the dialogue is kind of stupid.

She's a bad mama jama! (Emphasis on the mama!)
If you're familiar with Tank Girl, you know that she's far from the motherly type- despite hints early in the series that she'd eventually get knocked up. A girl who wishes for the world's biggest can of lager & spends her time shooting things with her tank just doesn't really sound like a great role model for a baby. Too bad for her that destiny has other things in mind.Booga knows something's wrong when TG refuses her morning brewski & when she isn't cheered up by blowing something up with her beloved tank, TG sets off on a walk to clear her head. Little does she know that she's in for a little bundle of joy that is heralded by many as a messiah sent for the end of days. While nothing will ever take volume 1's place as my absolute favorite (my first taste of the comics), this volume is still pretty fun. The artwork is absolutely gorgeous & the colors just really pop. I can't really compare this to the un-remastered version since I've never seen it, but this really was well done.Fans of TG will love this comic. Fans of Jamie Hewlett will love this comic. People who haven't heard of her will still get some enjoyment out of this but would be better served by picking up some of the earlier volumes or at least the movie. (The movie is terrible when compared to the comics but is still pretty fun to watch.)

Aimless and sloppy
The inspiration for 'TG: Apocalypse' (which is highlighted in the first few pages of the remastered edition) was promising enough, and I thought the following story was going to be a worthwhile read, full of poking fun at the crackpot end-of-the-world theories. Sure enough, Grant throws a whole bunch of this mythos into the story, but the overall impact of the narrative came across dry and aimless, it didn't ooze with Tank Girl's former insanity, providing very little characterisation. 'TG: Odyssey' (the previous collection) provided a much more thought out and talented tale, and if newcomers are approaching Tank Girl, that issue's a safer bet I'd say. That said, 'Apocalypse' brings back a few familiar faces from earlier issues, which is a nice touch indeed. Unfortunately, gone is the extensive use of pop-culture references, though there's a few humourous celebrity cameos and mentions here and there. The art style's change is possibly one of the greatest let-downs, with Pritchett's drawing lacking a certain passion and devotion, all in all coming across as rather sloppy.Worth a read if you're a TG fan, and possibly if you're a newcomer to the series, but bare in mind previous issues show TG and her world at their greatest.

Lacks the rhythm of Martin's Tank Girl
Much like Milligan's The Odyssey before it (to which I gave a similar review) Apocalypse really doesn't have the character, rhythm and humour of Martin's work. There is no doubting that Grant is an excellent comics writer but Tank Girl is evidently a hard nut to crack. Like Odyssey you can skip this and move straight on to Martin's excellent post-Deadline Tank. (P.S. Not sure why the other reviewers seem to think this is connected to the film material)
