does this get hot? would i be able to keep it enclosed in a box?

I haven't measured the temperature, but it doesn't get too hot for my use. I installed it in this box https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E6MZ832/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and use it to power some waterproof string lights near my pool. The lights pretty much use the max amperage the unit can provide, and it remains cool to the touch.

My unit started buzzing. Anyone else have that issue?

Something is probably just vibrating in the unit. Remove the top, fire it up and watch to see what component is vibrating. Probably a capacitor or an inductor. Then power it down and add some hot glue to that component. Should fix it. This is all assuming you are outside your return time, of course.

Input polarity? I am noob so please tell me if using with type f socket i have to always make sure that L&N inputs match the output of wall plug?
