Rips and tears very easily, one little snag and this lease is ruined. I had two flexi leashes that lasted 7 years with 2, 60 pound agressive pullers, jumpers, chasers and all around poorly behaved explorers. Those leashes were pulled over and against cactus, trees, fences (wood and metal), cars, caves, bushes....you name it twice daily, have gone on 3 trips to the beach getting wet constantly and 4 trips to the dunes getting dustier than any leash ever has, more camping trips than I can count and never once did the lease even snag, let alone tear. I finally had to purchase new leashes when the lock on my former 2 finally wore out. ( after 7 years of torture) I figured since my original flexi leashes lasted so long this would too but the material this leash is made of is much different than before and snags so easily. I had this a week before my dog chased a lizard into a bush (this is a daily occurance, lots of lizards in this fine az sunshine) - a fluffy soft, no thorns kinda bush - and the leash snagged, within 3 days the small snag tured into a 5 inch long tear with the fibers seperating and breaking until it just snapped. I love that you can use the poop bag attachment with this (its so great, so so great) and the color is super bright and fun - maybe for perfectly behaved dogs who dont chase lizards or bunnies this is fine but let's face it, if you have that kind of dog you can use a piece of string. The lock is strong but since I only used it a few times I dont know how it will hold up

Love the size and weight of it.-- Size is great for my petite sized hands.-- Size is very good for being able to hook it onto her harness for her to "carry" herself. A tiny bit smaller would be prefect. (@PompomMitzy on Facebook -- Mitzy the Pom Pom)-- Weight is heavy enough for me to be able to place on a counter, while placing an order inside a place of business. Mitzy is my "Little Helper" aka Medical Alert dog, so she goes everywhere with me.The "glow in the dark" is very helpful but doesn't blind one.Negatives:The ribbon could be of better and stronger material.It would be nice to be able to lengthen the ribbon a bit longer (as desired) for when Mitzy gets the ribbon tight at the current setting and/or when I misjudge how long it should be for her to be able to sit down with the ribbon set at x length of being longer just to put it up on a high counter. I'm short, too.Question!!!What's the best, simpliest, and quickest way to clean the ribbon part? Wiping it clean with a baby wipe or grocery buggy wipe doesn't clean it fully - but good enough to help keep germs at bay.

We've only had Extra-small Flexi leashes for our 2 Chihuahuas, both under 6 lbs. They've held up for 10 plus years, no problem and 5 stars. I purchased 2 new ones (Neon yellow and a blue one) as back ups just in case. Both are Extra-small.Unfortunately I can't even hold the handles on these as they seem to be made for a small child and I have small hands.Why would the size of the handle have decreased so significantly since the originals? It makes no sense.We are still using the old leashes as the new ones are basically useless.Very disappointed. I can't review the leash in general since we can't use them.

The quality of this leash is the quality expected with this brand. It's listed as extra small which I thought meant it was for small dogs. That's meaning that the handle is extra small. Perfect for a 6 year olds hand but not an adult. I have average size hands and its it's a struggle. It's out of the question for my husband to use. Ive added a picture of the older flexi leash I have along side the new one. BIG difference in size. If you have extremely dainty hands, it may work for you

I am copying my review for this leash from the review I posted for the Small size leash (same brand). I purchased the Small leash for my Boston terrier puppy. She was 2 months/5 pounds at the time. This leash was a little too big for her. But I kept it since she will grow into it. I liked this leash and decided to purchase the XS version too. The XS version is the perfect size for my puppy right now. Puppy has grown to 7.4 pounds now and it works great with her. In about another 5 pounds she can probably change to the Small size. Smooth movement of the leash and the quick stop works great. The XS size, my hand fits about 3 fingers in the handle comfortably. The Small size, I can fit 4 fingers to easily hold it. Both are comfortable to hold in hand. Not too heavy.

Narrow leash in 10' for small dogs is not paired with properly sized retractor handle. Flat leash is not smoothly retracted into body, leading to folds and creases that lead to tears and fraying. Leash completely destroyed in less than one year use with 6lb dog. DO NOT BUY!! The full-sized (16') model works well with the tape properly controlled by the handle. But this one is a design failure.Changed to +4 Stars. You've got to love Flexi's warrantee support. 2 Year Warrantee and they stand behind it! I received a replacement today and I'm almost happy with the product. Same design as the original; I suspect sourcing an ultra fine tape that fits into a small handle is difficult. I'll be doubly sure this one is treated extra carefully; but the 2 year warrantee covers the time that seems reasonable to me for a replacement leash anyway. Holding it in my hand, I'm still impressed with the quality and design compared with the competition. Only wish the tape were indestructible !

its a good leash and it is bright. the issue i vant fit my hand in the handle.

Saw a neighbor with this leash and ordered the XS for my little rescue who runs all over the place like a squirrel. I like that the leash tape is VERY visable (vs a thin black cord) so that you and other can see it. Retractable leashes are dangerous when it comes to getting tangled in bushes, with other dogs, or with other people walking so I'm still cautious, but this NEON YELLOW tape makes me more aware!

The most that I like about is very light, and when we go off leash places we don't have to take it off, it can be locked on his harness. It's wonderful for a small dog. We own a Havanese/Bichon and it's perfect for him. Great quality and a beautiful color, just perfect for the summer.

The tape glows in the dark and perfect for evening or early morning walks.
