I always use filtered water in this kettle.
Great kettle. I wish it had a larger spout to pour out the hot water.

Had this in the Brushed Stainless for years!! Love this teakettle!
I must be the only one who got a very sturdy kettle because I can't even tell you how long I've had this. Wait actually I can.....Just went to my orders and under "orders in the last 6 months" there is a tab that you can click on that goes by year of purchases and I found this was purchaed on January 3rd 2010. So I have had my (brushed stainless) Primula teakettle for that long. 10 years! This thing has held up to me turning on the wrong burner on the stove and discololring the inside a handful of times, the outside had held up to many a food/sauce/something boiling and splashing on it. The rubber covering the handle and the tab to pop up where the water pours out, and the pull top to put the water in are all almost like new even though the kettle looks like it ha seen better days. I took photos to show the wear, but I don't have any way of posting them. I don't know if it's that the order was placed so long ago, but as I'm writing this review I don't see anywhere to download photos. It's held up for me and even though the bottom has been burnt or discolored I have washed it and it still boils water, still whisltes like it did when I first got it. The whistle is loud but not piercing. I just came on to see if they still sell it, as it is just not looking it's best and we are getting a new stove. If I order a new one I can certainly compare teh qualitliy of one purchased 10 years agao to one purchased today. If I can I will post photos and if I do buy one will write a comparative review.

Worked great for a short time then the handle broke
Owned less than 5 months and today the handle broke off in my hand with no warning, with a kettle half full of scalding water!I contacted the seller, Fusion Imports, for refund or replacement. Will let you know how it turns out.UPDATE: Seller, Fusion Imports, claims no responsibility, refuses to help but tells me that I must contact the manufacturer. However, even after 5 requests they also refuse to provide information on how to contact the manufacturer.I strongly recommend that you do not buy from Fusion Imports. If anything goes wrong with your product they are unwilling to help and may not understand English because they will send the same "canned" response that does not answer your question.UPDATE: After publishing this review and asking for the 6th (really 6) time for information about the manufacturer from Fusion Imports they FINALLY provided me with the manufacturer's website,[...]. I emailed the manufacturer. They did not respond but only 2 days later a new one arrived at my front door! Wow, what a wonderful surprise! Thanks Epoca!

Nice Dsign but Flawed
I searched high and low for a well designed yet reasonable tea kettle. My last one was great until I let it burn dry for about half an hour, oops. But this one looked really promising. A big enough opening so a man can get his hand in there to wash the kettle and a whistle. A must for me since I often go back to work while the water is heating. All looked good until I tried it out for the first few times. In all cases the lid did not fit tightly enough to cause the whistle to blow when the water was boiling. All you got was a bunch of steam from all around the lid and no Whistle.Another slight criticism is the trigger to lift open the spout. It has a rubber like sheath that slides on the the metal trigger to keep your finger form getting too hot or burning. It likes to slide off fairly easily. Not a big deal to slide it back on but you need to be careful about how much pressure you use on the trigger to open the spout. The Silicon handle does stay cooler to the touch and works well. Seams and stainless steel quality seem good, so if you get one where the lid fits correctly you may end up with a quite serviceable tea kettle.Amazon was great about returning the item and I ended up with a Farberwear Sonoma but alas that had problems of its own.Am I really forced to buy a $100 plus kettle from England to get one that works without fail? I'll keep searching til I find one that simply boils water, whistles, and does not rust.UPDATE:Found the almost perfect kettle and under $50...............................NO Whistle thoughDemeyere 4.2-qt. Stainless Steel Water Kettle, RestoHeats fast, well made, no rust (owned since June and it is now Dec, some water in it all the time) Big enough to get your hand in (small to medium :)) to clean and looks great. Not too hard to find. Amazon should pick the line up!

Handle stays cool and comfortable
Not lined with painted surface which, unbeknown to me, had disintegrated in my last teapot. I had been drinking chips. Very efficient heating up water and whistle volume is just right. Water pours out without any dribbling or spitting of hot water as happens with some. Handle stays cool and comfortable, and the trigger to open spout in a handy position.

Nice kettle, great size, good quality.
Nice Kettle. Good price, good quality. Whistles every time so far. My old one burnt on the stove because the part that whistles did not close correctly, I recommend this kettle, it is used multiple times a day.

Primara soft grip stainless tea kettle
I didn't give this teapot 5 stars because the sicone handle is not glued down and it keeps slipping off, not to the point where it comes off completely because I keep pushing it back on the the handle that it is on... I would think that they could have glued the silicone to the handle to avoid this problem.

Total waste of money
Right away I could tell the opener would not last. Then it kept getting harder and harder to open. After two weeks I ordered a new kettle. Don't waste your money.

Missing one key feature
Sometimes you want your kettle not to whistle, such as when people are sleeping later than you. I figured out to prop a bamboo chop stick in the spout to prevent whistling, but I shouldn’t have to do that. That being said, the whistle is good, the kettle overall is generally fine. Silicone sleeve covering the trigger has to be pushed in every few days.
