Buy This Grinder! You Won't Be Sorry.
For more than 50 years I have just been drinking coffee. This fantastic coffee grinder has now allowed me to taste and truly enjoy coffee. The main thing I can say about this grinder is JUST BUY IT. It is fantastic, easy to work, grinds your beans to whatever setting you like and is easy to clean. It is exceptionally quiet and works great right out of the box.The only thing that it is missing is a really good brush to use to clean it out but that's a minor problem and one I solved by purchasing an really nice one for a reasonable price.

Works great. I set to coarsest grind for my bonavita ...
Works great. I set to coarsest grind for my bonavita brewer. Numbers printed on the timer/on-switch about equal number of 5-Oz cups to be brewed @ 7 grams of beans per cup. Almost no cleanup needed after grinding dry beans. For oily beans, supplied brush works fine to clean residue from burr compartment. The grinder is rugged, adequately quiet and has no sharp edges to scratch fingers. One small issue: Excess cord will not stay in the bottom where it's intended.

Good unit... some flaws.
I paid full price for this item - no discount for review. I like this burr grinder and it is much more convenient than using a blade grinder. I cold brew my coffee and this makes a large volume of ground coffee quickly. Does the coffee taste better? Maybe a bit, but it isn't going to turn garbage coffee into gold. Pick your beans carefully.A few issues...- First, the coarsest grind setting isn't all that coarse. This seems better suited for doing a medium to fine grind.- Second, depending on your beans, there is a problem with static electricity and the grindings will cling to the unit when you remove the receptacle. Oily beans exhibit less of this behavior.- Third, it is a bit messy. You really need to clean it out pretty rigorously after each use. My recommendation...take it outside, disassemble, and use compressed air to blow it out.Even with the above issues, this is much better than using a smaller blade grinder.

Purchase the older model elsewhere instead
Let’s talk coffee grinders. I certainly did my research with this one- and I thought I had chosen a winner. I love my Capresso milk steamer, so I was eager for my grinder to arrive. It busted the day I got it. I read the instructions and made what I thought was no error. Later I found a tiny piece of plastic in the box and a small note that said something about how operator error can cause a small piece of plastic to break off and the machine to malfunction. I spent $109 on a coffee maker with a known, cheap plastic flaw? No thanks. I returned this item, I’m hoping they accept it because it’s still in transit.Additionally, my coffee that came with the maker was three months past the expiration date. Overall I am not impressed with this experience. However, I ordered an older model of the Capresso grinder through Best Buy for only $50 and it works like a dream! It is way less bulky, has stainless steel elements, and can grind up to 12 cups of coffee worth of beans at once. This amazing little machine is The Capresso Coffee Burr Grinder Model #591.

Great looking, best grind mechanism (conical)
I've been using a VERY old blade grinder (more than 25 years!!) and everytime, I'd say I need to get a quieter, newer grinder. After lots of research, I opted for the above mentioned Capresso. Great looking, best grind mechanism (conical), GREAT price and it's quiet!! No fear of waking others around me when I want that cup of (decaf) coffee.

Okay but Has Obvious Flaws
This grinder so far does a good job. Long term performance is just as important because I don't want to have to replace items after a couple of years. So on that, we'll see. This is a replacement for a less expensive grinder that lasted me many years but that recently I had to keep opening up and cleaning the motor for it to run. That grinder cost less than half this one, and while it didn't perform quit as well (close though) it looked much much nicer. This grinder has a really cheap look to it and I just don't like seeing it sit on my counter. It would be better if it was actually metal or even black plastic. But the "metal look" plastic is just so tacky. It is quieter than my last grinder and that's a bit of a plus. BUT just to make one pot of coffee with a medium grind, I have to do two batches of grinding. The timer only grinds enough for 10 cups. For me this is the biggest flaw. The last thing I want to do in the morning is create extra work for myself.

Quiet!
A nice grinder. Have previously had several other brands and this beats them- quiet, less messy and does a good job. Yes, there is static electricity cling, but less than with others. Have used for 3 weeks or so and will upgrade opinion if necessary.

Static hell is predictable and controlable!
Amazing grinder. Held off on reviewing to make sure it had pleanty of time to disappoint. It didnt happen. Grinds fantasticly, is noticably much better than a blade grinder. The only problem whatsoever is "static hell" that occurs sometimes. Through trial and error, I've learned that static hell occurs when using dark roasts, the darker the roast, the more static you will encounter.Ive started a "house mix" where I mix my dark roasts with compatable light roasts, a mix of roughly 50-50 dark light, almost no static unless you grind dark roasts by themselves.
