I do not know for sure. I can see nothing to indicate otherwise. VISM indicates it is a division of NCSTAR, INC., 18031 Cortney, Ct., City Of Industry, CA 91748 and indicating a US Paten #9784535. I can tell you from my hands-on experience, it is a heavy, well made and functional tool. I have experienced no problems with it, structurally or operationally. If somehow it came up missing, I would immediately order a replacement. Hope this helps.

Do you need this to take off the back sights on my Glock 17?

Yes if you have a dove tail type sight. This tool will push it out and push a different sight in. You must remove the slide from the frame in order to use this tool.

Will this work on a glock19 Gen5?

Yes; as well as several others.

Will this work on Glock 19 Gen 4 rear sight?

Yes, you should have no trouble using this tool to change the rear site on G-19 Gen 4 pistol. So far, I have used it to change the rear site on a G-42 and a S&W Shield without any problems.
