PeakMusic Stands SMS-32 Orchestra Music Stand

This stand is heavy but well made. I like the wide top.

This has so much potential if only the bag were slightly bigger (and maybe if it had a music pocket). It is almost impossible to fit the section with the legs in the bag. So instead of being able to tear down quickly after a gig, I spend 5 minutes fighting with the bag. Most of the time I can’t zip it all the way shut. I emailed Peak for assistance and got no response. It is very sturdy, but I bought it for the portability of the bag.

There is everything to like this music stand. Rock solid construction, relatively easy set up/take down, and it has clamps so there appears not to be any plastic screws to strip over time. Getting everything back into the bag that comes with it is my only complaint. They could have made the bag just a tad bigger to make it easier to get the stand into it with the desk. I would give this five stars instead of four if the instructions would have been even slightly better. This stand certainly beats the competition and their price/performance ratio. I have not had a portable music stand that seems to be as well made as Peak Music Stands. I highly recommend this over any other stand in it's price range and I will buy another.

This is a very sturdy stand, very easy to have ready to use in just a few seconds. You can use any music book, or notebook, with no worries.And, easy too, to take down. The bag is a nice canvas material, but the only reason I gave overall one less star is because it would be nice if the bag were a little bigger, so you did not have to struggle to fit the tripod part in it. Also, because of the bracket on the back of the top part was pushing against the inside of the bag, it was starting to wear a hole in the bag. (It did actually push a hold through the box it came in).

I purchased this stand for my son, and it was exactly what I wanted. It’s sturdy, easy to assemble, and came in a nice zip bag for portability.

I got this music stand to work on writing music at my piano instead of a small table. It was really important to me to have all parts of the stand be able to lock so that I could angle the "desktop" so it was parallel to the floor and lock the height in so that the desktop didn't spill everything if I made the wrong movement and so the desktop would be locked in at the right height, even if I leaned on it. It does all this plus has a smooth desktop instead of a textured one which makes it ideal to use as a writing platform. And it comes with a little case it all fits into - the stand folder up to just the size of the desktop and is very portable in case I need to bring the stand to a gig or something. Beats the crap out of my Manhasset!

Excellent stand. I had previously purchased GearLux Collasible stand, but it was too heavy to be easily transportable for me, much less my 9-year old daughter. I did not want to purchase the flimsy wire stands because i had and it broke/stripped in less than a year. Im so glad i found this stand. Heavy, yet light enough to transport. It included the perfect size carrying case with has a section to place the desk part of the stand away from the legs so it doesnt scratch. I can put my daughters book in it. Its perfect for her and me on the rare occassion i decide to get out my violin and practice. The levers are so much better than the twist knobs as they are easier to release and tighten. Absolutely great stand.

I use this stand both at home and anywhere I go to practice or play. It's nicely finished, it feels solid, and it's easy to set up and take down for transport. It would get five stars except that the case is just a little too small, and it takes a knack (along with some patience) to get the zipper closed around the curved plate at the top of the leg assembly.
