Nice little windmill.
I don't use as a mole chaser so can't attest to that. I use it like a weather vain. I like to watch it turn & let me know which direction the wind is. My tip you need a strong pole to put it on. Use a level otherwise youll have trouble there. Keep the moving parts greased it will run smoother.

Moles Can't Stand This
Moles and voles would not recommend this product, but I do. I drove a 10" stick of galvanized conduit 24" into the ground and mounted the windmill (built a bracket to the adjacent fence post at 36" off the ground). It catches the wind easily and spins like mad, sending vibrations into the garden, and driving them crazy. Three years in and not a single mole mound in my lawn. Just need to get my neighbors to add some windmills.

Mole chaser
Don't leave in too many strong winds or the blade will come off.

Decorative but useless
I’ve had this in place for several months and am sad to conclude it does nothing to deter moles. The photo shows damage around and near the windmill, much of it after I placed the windmill. Assembly was ok, although finding an 8-foot grounding rod and then hammering it 4 feet into the ground was challenging. Now I’m wondering how I’m going to get the rod back out of the ground when I consign the windmill to the scrap metal. It’s possible that I put it in an area that is too sheltered by surrounding trees, as the blades seem to need a fairly strong wind in order to turn. I resorted to catching the moles alive by hand, and have caught two so far. It can be done - some good videos on YouTube - although you need time, patience and some luck. It also doesn’t solve the problem of what to do with the mole once you’ve caught it!

Looks nice, not sure it works
So I got this for a way to get ride of miles without killing them. I don’t think it works?Spiked a grounding rode 4 feet into the ground, with another 4 feet above. First thing, this thing is solid and if it’s windy enough would probably take off someone’s head, so you will want to have it higher just for safety reasons. Secondly, I think it attracted them? Had mole trails all around the darn thing. I gave it about a month before I moved it to a location that has less foot traffic for safety reasons (Kids).Maybe it works, might need to give it more time. But for that month I had it in a high mole run area, I killed five of them with traps.Looks good and well built.

Good product
Gave this as a gift to my German cousin to use in her yard in Germany, Within a week the moles were gone. I purchased one to use here in the states. The noise translates underground in English and German to frighten off the little buggers .

What a great windmill!
If you like a windmill turning in the slightest breeze, merrily turning as the wind direction shifts you will love this. I first found this at Harbor Freight and bought several over the years at $9.95. Used it by my boat at the marina and at home mounted atop an arch. Then Harbor stopped selling the item. When my final one wore out. I went a Amazon. For several years they were not availabe. Then one day there it was: available at $30. I ordered one immediately and when it came I could see it was the Harbor Freight duplicate. Terrific! I like to paint my fan blades red, white and blue in a circle and the direction vane in the back I paint an abbreviated American flag. I mount it high, well over a head as this thing really turns and could give a serious cut. Do not let children play with this.Oh, does this thing work as a mole chaser? I have no idea. I do know it works better as a wind driven wind mill than most mills Amazon sells, especial ones like WW I fighter planes which are handsome to see but only turn in a gale.It won't last forever, a year or two of constant use, but what a great windmill! You'll love seeing it turn in your garden.

Needs different screws. Does not come with mounting pole
So I screwed it all together as tight as possible ,found a pole, put it in the ground, checked on it after a storm, all the blades fell off. I think the screws are not long enough. Now it's in pieces and hopefully I'll get around to putting it back together with different screws.
