Emerson SmartSet Alarm Clock Radio with AM/FM Radio, Dimmer, Sleep Time and .9” White LED Display, ER100101

Great unit and great sensitivity. Picks up a local station that is fuzzy on my other radios.I specifically bought this because it has multiple pre-sets and most clock radios do not.This thing is complicated. If you can't program your remote or DVR, you might have an issue with this.Next, look at the photo, see all those buttons? Most of them have multiple functions... ugh...I need to remember these buttons: on/off, volume and the station preset switching button. The on/off button is easy to remember and so is the volume button but I had to take a black sharpie and mark the preset switching button so the wife could find it.I have it programed for only 2 stations so I hit that button and it simply switches between those 2 stations, exactly as I wanted.I am going to buy a few more of these, one for the workshop down stairs and one for the garage, maybe another for the master bathroom.The Emerson ER100101 SmartSet Alarm Clock Radio is small, stylish and over complicated to program, but what the heck, if you can get it programed and remember the station switching button, you will love it.SAVE THE INSTRUCTIONS as if you ever need to re-program it in the future, you won't unless you have those instructions. I scanned them and made a PDF file and stored it in multiple locations for future reference.9/12/18 UPDATE... still working after 11 months. Never bought another one til now, as the price went up quit a bit. Now it is down about half way to what I paid so I am going to buy another, but only 1 for the master bathroom. As of now I walk around the house and the radio in the master bathroom is only AM. It is worth it to be able to tune overt FM with a single button push and be on the same stations as the other radios in the house and garage.~

Bought this alarm clock because the buttons looked very simple to use. Works great as expected. Nothing complex in setting it and it's extremely simple to use which I love. I didn't even need the instruction manual let's just put it that way. I use the radio alarm at mid volume. Never get a rude awakening from it. Just very pleasant music on the station I chose. Plus the back up battery for blackouts is super convenient. You never have to reset it when the power is finally restored. We had one power outage since I got it. And sure enough the time and alarm was still set to what it was before the blackout. Works great. Had it for about a year now, and never had any problems with it. Don't believe in all the bad reviews you see here. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Why not try it. The price is great and it does what it advertises. If you don't like it for any reason just return it. I love it.

This is a great alarm clock with two small issues.1) The leds at the lowest setting were too bright for my room. Installing  Dim It Light Dimming Sheets  fixed this issue.2) The buzzer alarm volume isn't adjustable. It was a little loud for my liking, but after a few weeks I have gotten use to it.Overall I am still happy with this clock. I am really glad to not have to worry about resetting the time.My favorite feature so far has been being able to set different alarms for weekdays and weekends. No more having an early morning alarm go off on Saturday mornings just because I forgot to reset the alarm the night before.

This is a very annoying alarm clock! I bought it to replace my radio alarm so that I can be woken up with soft music before my secondary beeper alarm buzzes.Cons: -This alarm has a radio, but no matter how soft I set it before hand, despite following the instructions, it turns on at the "middle" volume which is really loud, defeating my whole purpose of having a radio alarm.-The instructions are lousy and overly complicated.-All of the buttons are on the top of the alarm, next to each other, and feel the same. The snooze button and the off button SHOULD be really far apart so you don't accidentally hit the wrong one when half asleep.-The white display is BRIGHT. It has 2 settings- blinding and too bright. I bought a dollar store purple plastic folder and had to cut 4 layers of it and stack them to tape over the display to make it tolerable even on the lower setting.-It has an auto-set time feature, just a battery that should remember the time when the power goes out. It can't remember the alarms or radio settings. It lost power briefly last night and decided to re-set itself to a completely random time. Unplugging it to re-start it did not help, it kept setting itself to that incorrect time.I should have returned this right away but would have had to pay return shipping, so I waited, and now am stuck loosing ALL of my $ since it doesn't even remember the time like it should.

I received it in July 2018, but did not use it right away. Probably started using it in August 2018, and in Oct. 2018 it started buzzing (not the alarm) at first it wasn't very loud then got very loud and stopped working. Of course can't return it so it sits there. I had to go to store and buy another. Do not buy this.

The perfect alarm clock. Once plugged into the wall, it took it a few seconds to set the time and date, then I set the time zone manually and was done. Setting the alarms is easy too, and they are loud enough to work for my nearly deaf mother.In particular, I like the white LCD display. It looks bright and crisp without being too bright. There is a way to dim it if it is too bright for you though, but I did not try that.My mother liked the fact that there is two different alarms on it that can be set interdependently. This allows her for instance to set one for 6AM and the next for 6:15AM just in case she wakes up but falls back asleep.I should point out that the CR2032 battery appears to be replaceable. The slot on the bottom has a tiny screw securing it in place. I will not mess with it as I know those batteries can last a decade in some devices, but when it dies, I will attempt changing the battery first.

En general es un buen producto tiene una pila de respaldo tipo pastilla mucho mejor que las de 9v solo la alarma no se puede programar a días hábiles ni tampoco el volumen de la misma de lo demás bien

We didn't like these, the volume was way too high even on the lowest setting and the light on the lowest dimmer setting was still too bright for our needs.

Los materiales no son de la mejor calidad, la forma de poner la hora y las alarmas es distinta a los radio-despertadores convencionales. Se maneja mediante husos horarios preestablecidos (para Estados Unidos) y de esta forma se configura la hora (no es difícil). Los minutos sí se configuran de forma ascendente y descendente. El nivel de brillo va de muy intenso, a uno tenue, pero al ser LED, podría llegar a ser molesto para personas que requieren oscuridad total para dormir. El radio tiene buen sonido. Los botones tienen un “click” muy ruidoso. ElSonido de la alarma es un pitido discontinuo que va incrementando de volumen, muy efectivo para despertar.
