Best phone I've bought
I've only had my Rebel 4 one day, but I already know that it's the best phone I've had. A cellphone is not my life, so I don't need something with all the bells and whistles of an expensive phone. I just want one with these features: 1)has a good phone with a usable speaker phone, 2) the text works easily and can receive pictures, 3)is easy to turn the mobile data on and off to save my data minutes, and 4)takes decent pictures- all for a reasonable price. And this phone is it! Once you figure out that the Settings are under Tools and the Contacts are under Productivity, you're good to go. And with Tracfone, my minutes carried over from my last Tracfone, even my triple minute plan that I bought back in 2016.I discovered that I needed to install 2 important free apps- one to warn me if I'm using too much mobile data and the second to let me know that I have missed a call or text.

Great Value
I had an older LG 33L (Android 5.0) for several years, but with only 8GB of memory it wasn't sufficient for the apps that I need as many couldn't be moved to the SD card. Also on that older operating system, many apps would go to the internal memory when they updated and you had to manually move them back to the SD card. So I upgraded to this phone with 16GB of memory (actually the user only gets about 10GB of that). Although this doesn't have the latest Android OS, it is 8.1 and that along with the larger memory gave me a very useful phone at a reasonable price. Also, I like the form factor of this phone as it is still small enough to fit in a pocket or comfortably in a belt pouch; so many of the new phones are just too large to be convenient. So far it is great for what I need.

This phone is really OK-not perfect. See the rest of my review
The media could not be loaded. I made an original post that I had to delete.I originally said that the Tracfone Rebel has no receptacle for an SD card. Well after examining the phone some more, I find that the phone does have a receptacle for an SD card but it was a bit hard to find because it mounts on top of the SIM card. The attached video is what I originally posted. It shows that there is no easily- visible SD card slot. But I found out that the SD card slot is above that of the SIM card slot.So I should point out the phone's pros and cons at least according to how I see it.The phone is lightweight enough and low-profile enough so that you are not carrying some big clunky heavy thing. Good.It works well. The touchscreen has the right sensitivity though it seems to falter at times. I like the phone but I just have to accept a phone that comes closest to what I want and what I need since it is hard to find a phone with a design that comes closer to what I really like in a phone.Tracfone is discontinuing or phasing-out a lot of its older models because (or partially because) of the new VOLTE system that is supposed to make all phones work better. Certain older style phones are not compatible with VOLTE.The Rebel has a removable back cover which I prefer in a phone so that I need not use a "SD-slot Key" or "SD-card Tray" to place the SD card. When a phone has a "Tray" and/or needs a "Key" so as to open the SD card slot, it means there are extra parts that separate from the rest of the phone (in a way that the battery and SIM card do not) and the tiny key can get lost or damaged, the tray too. When that happens, I think you have to buy an entire new phone. I don't know if companies that manufacture phones with SD trays and keys have those replacement parts to sell to customers. The back cover of the Tracfone Rebel phone is removable and it is designed with a certain small "indentation" on one side of the back cover so you can place a small screwdriver or the tip of a letter opener (carefully), or maybe you can use your fingernail if it is that strong so as to then pull off the back cover from the back of the phone. It is not too hard especially once you get used to doing it. The back cover stays on the phone securely but not so tight that it takes great force to take it off. It might come off itself if the phone is dropped from a certain amount of feet up.The phone is light and compact enough. I dislike larger phones. The Rebel is not perfect, but "OK" since I will not be able to use "discontinued" Tracfone models like the Pixi Glitz, or the Pop Star, or the LG L33L Sunset. That is, the new VOLTE system will not work with certain older models. The Rebel has the SD card slot just on top of the SIM card slot which is not the best design for SIM and SD slots. At first I thought the Rebel had no SD card slot at all because I could not immediately see that the SD card would have to be inserted in a small slot above that of the SIM card slot. Also it seemed that it took a while for the phone to detect that there was an SD card inserted in the SD slot. It could indicate that the SD card did not make the right contact because the SD slot is not designed finely enough so that it detects the SD card properly. This might be a problem with the particular phone I have, or perhaps with all Tracfone Rebel phones. That is something I will keep an eye on as I continue to use this phone.Other cons in my opinion is that the phone is designed a bit too "Sleek" in feel and design. The sides are rounded and the back cover does not cover, or even partially-covers the sides of the phone. Other styles with back covers have covers that come around the sides of the phone and if the back cover is made of a material that feels rubberized, it is better so as to get a good grip as you hold the phone in your hand. The sides of the Rebel are very smooth and it means the phone can more easily slip from your grip. There is an ON button on the back of the phone just below the front camera eye (not the selfie camera). This is a more inconvenient design than if the button were on the sides of the phone or even on top of the phone.I don't like much of the visual interface of the phone. That is, it has visuals more like an i-Phone than an older-style Android. The list of functions on the screen are black lettering on a white background instead of white lettering on a black background. It just looks too technical for those who are not tech savvy, and furthermore the Rebel is indeed more technical to use in the respect that it has some functions that are not as clearly defined as with certain older models. With the Rebel you have to first go to " System" so as to then be able to access and set the Date and Time whereas other models you can immediately see words or icons to take you directly to that setting. At first I thought there was no way to set the date and time with the Tracfone Rebel.I would only recommend it to someone who does not mind the very different interface and setting set-up that it has. Of course there isn't a choice. There is the new VOLTE system and you must find a phone that works with it. Also I hear that a lot of phone manufacturers (not just Tracfone) are progressively making more phone models without removable back covers, thus the ones that have removable back covers will eventually be phased out, also the same for smaller, lighter, more-compact phones. Also with some "older" or differently-styled phones the screen does not take up the entire front of the phone. The phone has a "frame" design so the material of the sides of the phone frames the screen. This is sometimes better because at least according to my own experience, the larger that the screen is, the more easily it can break or get damaged, especially if it is glass (I think some screens are not glass but they can break too).Regarding that, it seems that the screen on the Rebel might be more susceptible to breaking because of its design. I am not yet sure if the screen is glass. It is hard for me to tell at this point.Yet I have to say that this phone is basically, decently-good for my purposes only because I cannot find anything I like better or that would work more like I want it to, and the chances are I won't find such a phone. So far as what I have noticed, the battery charges and holds the charge as good as most other phones. Maybe a bit better but nothing that special.UPDATE: 5/27/22 Since posting the original review above I find that I like the Tracfone Rebel even more though I would not say that I love it. After getting used to it it works well. It still takes getting used to. Tracfone made a mistake when I transferred my service (Safelink) from the Tracfone Sunset LG L33L to the Tracfone Rebel. Strange because the Rebel was working as it should. I was getting texts and being able to make calls and use the internet on it, etc, but then I got messages on my new Rebel phone from Tracfone / Safelink stating that service will be discontinued because the phone will no longer be compatible with the upcoming new network system. I was very sad that it appeared that the Tracfone Rebel phone that I grew to like so much would no longer be compatible and I would have to get a phone that I dislike in design and functions. But when I called Tracfone/ Safelink after a long discussion with them, it seemed that even though the service was transferred to my new Rebel phone, they had my old Tracfone Sunset L33L information on their computer system and they were sending messages to my new phone that it will no longer be compatible that they should have stopped sending.I hope I can keep the Tracfone Rebel .

This is a Good Phone
I really like this phone. It is simple to use. It downloads fast. It is a nice lightweight phone. This is a good basic phone.I have a more expensive Samsung Galaxy Sky Pro 7 already. The Samsung has a screen that jumps all over the place because it is so sensitive. I had to make several attempts to do something because it was jumping from one screen to the next so much. It was frustrating using it.I finally got tired of it. I bought this. and I really like this phone. The camera works well. The on off button is on back of phone. Only the volume buttons are on the side so you don't accidentally disconnect a phone call by pressing the start button. It charges fast. The battery life is fair but I keep screen on so that drains the battery quicker. The screen has the right amount of response time for me.Tracfone is a reliable company. I'm pleased with them. When calling you can always talk to a person. I think their customer service is good . They have several plans to choose from. One option I like is you can purchase an additional 500 minutes for 10. You have to purchase a plan first but can buy those extra minutes if running short. Yes the sim card is included and activation and transferring was simple. If you need help customer service will stay on the phone with you until your phone is up and running. What is needed to transfer all your info from your old phone is to go to The Play Store and download the Tracfone Express Wizard. You need to download that app to your old and new phone. The app walks you through the process. When that bar code appears in your phone all you have to do is to hold both phones together. The camera will automatically snap the picture of the barcode. It transfers quickly. This phone comes with a charger.
