I have a 1999 Chevy c3500 with the 5.7 L31 engine backed by an 4RL80E transmission. This setup allows me to tune virtually all aspects of the PCM's operations at HALF the price of other tuners.It is true that it does not have data-logging, but everyone has a smartphone these days and there are really cheap ELM327 interfaces these days that allow you to data-log for less than $20, so it's a no-brainer to buy this basic tuner at half price and not worry that it doesn't data-log.You will need to buy a USB to Serial converter for about $12 if you don't have a serial port on your newer computer and you do have to load the software in compatibility mode, but again, all of that works perfectly and this setup is functional for half the price of other tuners.If you have questions or problems the customer support is excellent. Emails answered near real-time and not defensive or patronizing. If you need help, it is there, clearly and plainly presented.If you forced me to say something bad about the setup it would be that I'd like to see a complete list of each parameter and a description of what it does. For example, Power Enrich Rate Period = The minimum amount of time power enrich will last upon entry.A list such as this would be a GREAT addition to the documentation as different tuning solutions name their tables differently. You can learn every parameter on your own, but why make us go through that? Most make perfect sense, but some are harder to infer the meaning of.

Very comprehensive vehicle computer access.
This app is not for the faint of heart. It allows a very powerful and comprehensive access to nearly every parameter of the vehicle's computer module(s). I used the earlier TunerCat software on my '94 C4 Corvette then purchased this unit for my '00 C5. JET bought this system from TunerCat.I used the TunerCat app to reset the C4's computer following a change of final drive ratio and cooling system fan controls using a 180°F thermostat. On the C5, I've used the JET version (name change only as far as I can tell) to reset the fan switches to handle a 180° thermostat as well as to raise torque converter's lock up points.I'm giving it 4 stars because the software is a challenge to install onto your PC (at least for me,anyhow). It needs a serial port (check the cable in the ad) to connect. I had success using a serial to USB converter plug; and I'm using Windows 7 to run it (have read bad words about its ability to run on WIN8). Not being much of a PC geek, it took me 3 or 4 reboots to get the the PC and vehicle computer to begin communicating. It is well worth the price and effort if you're wanting to do some serious tuning and customizing of the car to fit your desires. Just be sure to back up each change you make.

What a mess...
What a mess and Im still in the WTF stage of trying to get it to work. So far spent a week switching back and forth with different computers that flash several error codes. Down load the fix and the thing still doesn't do anything.

NO SUPPORT AND THEY DONT CARE
Good luck getting the software to work properly. And they only have email support so good luck with that.

Called for help with error codes. Only help is by email. Doesn't like to work Everytime it is hooked up. Go figure first test and tune day it wouldn't link up.

Be prepared for a Nightmare
The program is awesome and allows you to change a ton of parameters, BUT, knowing what to change and how much to change is entirely up to you. You MUST do a lot of homework to understand how to use this program. Once you do, BEWARE of your connect from your laptop to the vehicle. Mine repeatedly would not connect or would stop working mid program. I fried 2 computers in my truck thanks to trying to make my $400 purchase work, and reman computers DO NOT WORK like the original. I spent hours and hours and way too much money trying to make this work because I refuse to give up. Save yourself the headaches I had and buy a handheld programmer. Jet's support was very good and very appreciated, but they blamed the problem on the connection between the laptop and my truck. If they have so many problems with this, why don't they offer a reliable USB connection between their black box and the laptop.
