It Does Exactly What It Says It Does
It is small. I don't mind that because it's easy to store. It's also a very basic machine with an on/off button, a lid and no "heat shield" on the bottom (it's not needed because you are not resting your hands on the bottom anyway. Some people have complained that it isn.t large enough. I have large hands, but they are not very fleshy. I have no trouble submerging my entire hand up to the wrist into the paraffin bath. I did buy extra paraffin and found that adding 1 1/2 bars of paraffin makes for a deeper bath. I did not buy it intending to submerge my feet, but if that is something you want to do, you would be better off with a larger unit. The wax does take about 2 1/2 hours to melt completely. Once I realized that, I just remember to turn it on about 3 hours before I plan to use it. I do not find the heat to be excessive. Yes, it is hot....but you are dipping your hand in and out pretty quickly and the heat is therapeutic. I have never found it intolerable. I've noticed that after using the paraffin bath daily for a week, I not only have less pain in my finger joints, but my fingernails are not breaking as easily or peeling. Win/win. I did not waste my money on gloves. I use (and reuse) a zip lock bag. The paraffin is great quality, moisturizes nicely and, if you follow instructions and dip 5 times for 5 thin layers, makes a thick layer that easily peels off like a glove after about 15 minutes. All in all, I'm very happy with this inexpensive, no frills unit. Update 8/28/23 - Still very pleased with this. One tip for those who think the wax is too hot. I remove the lid once the wax is completely melted and wait 10 minutes to dip my hand. The wax cools just enough so that it is more comfortable on the skin. Hope this helps.

Works as advertised
Machine came with about a pound of paraffin, I added another pound. It takes a couple of hours to melt, which seems like a long time - but maybe that's normal. This machine worked as advertised, but it's very small. I got it for my husband to use on arthritic hands/wrist but it is very shallow and doesn't cover the wrist...so I'm looking for another one that is deeper.

Works well for my needs
Great product in terms of size and price. For me, once the wax is melted, it’s not too hot, even when I dip my hand in with the power still on. My hand size is medium, and I can fully submerge my hand into the container. As for my foot, though I’ve never tried, I suspect it could only soak up to the ankle. It’s okay that it doesn’t fit my foot since I purchased it specifically for my hands. The unit is compact and lightweight, so I can keep it on my desk to melt the wax while I work on other tasks. Even when the unit is on, the exterior doesn’t get too hot, so I don’t need to worry about accidentally touching it and burning my hands while using my computer or reading. Overall, I like the unit quite a bit. However, there are two areas that I think need major improvement: Wax melting time: It takes far too long to melt the wax. When I first started using it, it took about 3 hours to completely melt the wax included in the package. Even after the first use, it still takes almost 2 hours to melt the wax each time I use it. Wax scent: The scent of the wax included in the package is extremely strong. I usually enjoy fragrances and have a fair tolerance, but this wax has such a strong scent that I could smell it even when it was still sealed in the package. Once it’s heated, the scent fills not just the room but also other rooms on the same floor. Despite these issues, I would still recommend this unit because you can always purchase wax with a milder scent once the initial wax is used up. However, I find the long melting time frustrating and would strongly prefer a faster melting option or even a feature to switch between high and low temperatures. I understand this might increase the price, but 2 to 3 hours is quite a long wait. If it could melt the wax in around 1 hour, that would be much more acceptable for me.

Small but effective
This is a small paraffin bath for hands. I have small hands and they fit, but there's not enough room to fully open all my fingers. I do like it doesn't take up a lot of space. Just an on/off button, no temp button. I've used paraffin baths before, and it is hot, but I have no issue dipping my hand in a few times before wrapping in plastic bags. If you have sensitive hands, just test it first. I didn't like the scented wax it came with, so I purchased 2 lbs unscented from another vendor. I used 1 1lb bag, and it was enough, but will likely add more so it covers the top of my hand as well. I turn it on and go back after about 90 minutes, and it is all melted. No big deal, just turn it on while you are still cooking, cleaning, etc.. and it will be melted when you go back to it later.

little too small for entire hand
can't fit my whole normal size hand in! I can do either for fingers spread apart per directions or I can do thumb put into paraffin at awkward angle. it feels nice, but I'm going to return it and get a larger size.

So nice!
I bought this paraffin bath hoping for softer hands and feet. What I got was a tiny personal spa and an excuse to sit down and do absolutely nothing for a little while. The unit heats the wax well, is easy to use, and leaves my skin feeling noticeably softer and more moisturized afterward. My hands felt smoother after the first use, and my dry heels were significantly less embarrassing. There's also something oddly satisfying about dipping your hands into warm wax. It feels ridiculous at first, then suddenly you're wondering why you've never done this before.

Conair paraffin wax machine for hands
I was skeptical because of some reviews but I got lucky and my True Glow by Conair works perfectly. It took 3 hours to melt paraffin the first time but only 2 hours for next 3 times I have used it. Test temperature if you are sensitive to heat. I am happy with treatment, very soft skin and cuticles. If it helps with arthritis even better because I am starting to see my fingers joints changing but no pain in my case. Highly recommend!

Disappointed
I bought this because I had one years ago that worked well...do not like this version of the product for the following reasons: 1. It's way too small. I still tried it, dipping first the heel then top of my foot then used a rubber spatula to try to hit my arch and top of my foot. It did not work well 2. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to melt the wax. It's been 3 hours and it's still not fully melted. I get that conair doesn't want their product to burn someone, but the wax shouldn't take that long to melt. Maybe adding a dual switch / one for melt, another for dipping / would be helpful ... but this product doesn't have that function 3. Since I tried it, I can't return it and just threw away $35 - which sucks! The manual says melt time is 90 minutes- I wouldn't have even tried to use it if I thought I'd be waiting for the wax to melt three hours later...maybe my unit is defective and I'll be able to get refunded for it. But either way I don't recommend buying this based on the size and issues with the wax not melting as claimed in the manual. Spend a little more money and get a wax machine that works better - I still want one but will check the reviews more thoroughly first.

Too small
It's smaller than I expected and takes a long time to warm up wax.
