works great, wonder how many more people "borrowed" this set from amazon
If you ever need to wind up the springs of your garage door, you need tools like this. They came in a retaped box and were clearly used before, so they didn't work just for me. I will keep them...

Donโt use screwdrivers โ Long-term Investment โ Non-Slip Handle โ Unfortunately no case
So I was told that you can use screwdrivers but after seeing how MUCH tension there is, I opted to order the proper tool. Consider it a long-term investmentโฆthis won't be the last time I work on this door and there are definitely other doors in my future. It was my first time working on the garage door and the winding bars worked as they should. The bars are strong and heavy duty - they make a nice "Heavy metal" sound when thrown on the ground. Made from carbon steel and has a cross-hatch etching for a handle grip which I didnโt see on other vendor options. PROS โ Solid Feeling โ Better than screwdrivers โ Etched handle for better grip CONS โ No storage pouch TIPS ๐ก Double Check - make sure they are inserted fully ๐ก Clean - wipe with dry or lightly oiled cloth to prevent rust (If they get wet/dirty)

Great Winding Bars
These work great. Don't listen to the minor issue of the red paint, it just doesn't matter. They fit perfect, high quality and the handles have great grip. Buy them, great price. I've never tightened garage springs before and after watching videos on safest and proper way, saved myself at least $200 balancing garage door myself.

It's a bar!!! ๐คฏ
WOW!!! I ordered bars, and I got bars!!! LoL ๐คฃ These will definitely get the job done, they're solid, comfortable to grip, fits the holes they're made for, making maintenance on overhead doors much easier, and cheaper than a service call

Solid Garage Door Torsion Spring Winding Bars, Correct Length is 17.4", Correct Diameter is 0.5"
These winding bars are quite good for typical heavy-duty torsion springs for residential garage doors. I reserve 5 stars for heirloom-quality products, but the winding bars are 4.5 stars for standard consumer-grade products. 17.5" length (description highlight), 17.4" length (description text), 16" length (box label), 1.446' (17.35") length (my measurement); 1/2" diameter (description highlight/text), 0.53" diameter (product information), 0.495" to 0.500" diameter on smooth sections and up to 0.520" diameter on knurled (handle) sections (my measurements), so maybe 0.53" diameter bar stock but good not to be larger than 0.50" at insertion end so as not to be too tight/too hard to insert on some winding holes; 45 (0.45 % carbon) steel, zinc-plated (product information); most red paint scrapes off during shipping but best to insert rods and draw line with colored Sharpie or wrap duct tape for visual depth gauge specific to your winding holes, unless working on many different torsion springs in which case use colored Sharpie or spray paint to recreate the visual depth gauges (insert winding rod before loosening torsion spring set screws and make mental note of approximately how much of the visual depth gauge remains when winding bar is fully inserted).

Perfect for spring winding.
Needed to put a few more turns in our garage door springs as the guy who installed the springs didn't do a good job balancing the door. Should have done that myself, too. Anyways.... I originally thought about just buying some rod stock and cut them down, but decided to buy these instead. It was worth it to have the added grip from the knurled ends. They got the job done. Perfectly balanced garage door and winders to use the next time the springs break!

Fit well
Not sure how much you can hype up two metal bars. They fit the tensioner holes well, and the knurled grip makes them easy to hold, even when you're hands are sweating like made because you're terrified of the spring exploding and taking out your eye, or part of your head. The paint on the ends is not consistent and, at least on my tensioner, did not like up with the edge of the hole when I put them in, so not sure what the purpose is. But in any case, these do the job.

Simple winding bars that do the job
They're winding bars, so not much to say here. They fit perfectly on standard door springs and have a good grip with no flex. Reliable and would recommend to any fitters/installers.

Solid winding bars work fine
Not the same quality as the advertising depicts. Despite this, they are plenty strong enough and the knurled handle is probably safer than other versions with plastic handles on the end that could slip off under tension. Premium they are not, but they get the job done. Not sure why winding bars cost this much, as much higher quality chrome plated tools of a similar size and shape are available at cheaper prices.

Metal rods - They work
They are metal rods that fit and work. Not very complicated. What more can I say?

Not like the pictures!
Terrible paint work, very roughly sprayed red paint, chrome handles partly rusted. See photo... would not buy again.
