Can anyone explain to me what the long 1/2” template piece is used for?

It’s for the top of the wallets shell on the inside. Glue to the inside top of the flesh side of the wallets outer shell then sew it in. There will be less than 1/2 “ of space on either side of that piece your asking about

Not for beginners

As described, there are no instructions, so beginners may have issues with assembly. These are laser cut from acrylic. My set had some rough edges and some chipped up edges, but not enough damage to warrant a return, they are still usable. The horizontal card slots in one piece were also not cleanly cut out & removed, but I can easily correct that myself. All in all it's a decent set that will offer many different wallet gut combinations. Looking forward to playing with the possibilities.

Not sure if it's the set we got, but the slots for the cards, don't actually fit cards in them. They're not wide enough.As stated in other reviews, no instructions included, but you can find some YouTube videos.

Great quality.

This pattern lets me create all the different billfolds. It was packaged wonderfully and arrived in excellent condition. I am happy with the quality of the acrylic and how the pattern pieces were cut. There were no uneven cuts and I will be able to mark leather easily.
