US Marine 1942 Soldier Sword & Sheath

First glance it resembles a mid quality K-bar not like the ones made in the 80 or older but the 90 and current models with a real Tanto edge and it appears ful tang, leather feals real, blade is sharp it even has a few inches of seration,not a stage prop but not a battle blade either, the sheath on the plus side it has a sling that adjust and a snap BUT its nylon crap and the fools shiped the blade in it unlike the majority of pros on amazon that have it outside the sheath in a cardboard insert. Oh and if you are thinking about buying from the Man Cave , I ordered it December 31 2013 and it arrived after several emails that were unanswered untill I got my Bank and Amazon rep involved on January 24, 2014. I Can order from Hong Kong and logistically recieve faster items .oh and its about carbine length in full.The shipper did nothing when the item was 4 days late,He should have eaten the shipping expences

This sword was really cool and felt really great in the hands. It's just a shame that I broke it trying to do yard work.(NOT THE INTENDED USE, I KNOW. I'm rating this product based on the experience I had of it before using it improperly.)

liked the look. Liked the smell of the leather handle. Used it for brush work and it worked well against soft brush. The tang gave way against wood such as cottonwood. I cut it shorter to re-use the blade with the handle and it works better. It is a weak machete at first, but I'm thinking it's the initial tang construction. Works better now as a long brush knife.

I got this for my friend who is an aspiring blacksmith. Needless to say he knows his way around a blade. He absolutely loved it despite the the crappy nylon sheath. He said it had a pretty decent edge right out of the box and even took a few swings at his test dummy with it with satisfying results.

it is quite sharp and cool looking. I gave it a few light swings on a 2 by 4 and it cut good but when i gave it a good hard slash the blade broke at the hilt and got stuck in the 2 by 4. I retrieved it and cut it down into 3 knives.

If you want a "sword" that has a real edge, avoid this. I could not put a real edge on this. Also, when you swing this thing around, sometimes you can feel the blade shift in the handle. Not good. Skip this one

way cool - a kydex type sheath would really make it the bomb though - I am not disappointed in anyway with the sword other than made in china ( but that's life.. ) - sharp too....

bough this as a birthday gift for my kid an he hit a ripe pumpkin with it and the handle broke in two. do not buy if you plan on using it as a form of defense or for your kids to play around with in the yard. Seller has no problem offering a refund. Seller is excellent and I have bought from them before.
