Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire: The Official Hoenn Region Strategy Guide [Pokemon Company International] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire: The Official Hoenn Region Strategy Guide Review: Far better than the guide for Pokemon X and Y ~ - Seems they got this one right. It is paperback (the X and Y guide was hardcover) and is a larger size making it less durable, but easier to read. The typical walkthrough is included, but this guide expands the basic Pokemon information making it useful as a very simple style Pokedex. They don't give away the farm though, most of the information notes where the player can first encounter said Pokemon but they don't list every way they can be found. Items are listed on maps but items collected through speaking with people are listed in the written walkthrough steps and are typically listed in an item box, but sometimes they are not. What players should know is that this is a spoiler filled guide that lists the steps to take to beat Pokemon Alpha and Omega - it has a rudimentary Pokedex, lists of items, lists of HMs and TMs, and colorful, detailed maps. Review: Excellent - I already beat the game but the guide lists some things I missed and I continue to get more out of the game. I'm not sure how much yet at this point. It's a good guide if you've never played Pokemon before, if your just playing now, stuck or missed stuff. Awesome price too. Some guides are ridiculous on here and some even have missing elements. The element here is a map poster. It's not very important to me but for 20-30 bucks I expect everything to be there. It was here!

5 Star guide!
Definitely a 5 star guide book. I haven't used a guide book in quite some time, but its absolutely required for this game. I tried playing the game without the guide and I missed out on so much (even though I played the original Ruby and Sapphire pretty much to death!), and half of the things I discovered so far are the most fun things about the game. I would absolutely recommend buying this guide, and you will get it much cheaper on Amazon than you will at the store! This guide has maps, exact trainer locations, exact item locations, even information on hidden items (the ones you find with the item finder)and pretty much everything you would want in a strategy guide. Previously some of the guides were missing the exact item and trainer locations and I didn't like that, I bought the guides to get all of the information, and that is why I pay for them, not to purposely have things left out because the publisher was lazy! I noticed this guide book is made by The Pokemon Company which is a very good thing, since that means its an offical Nintendo Published/endorsed guide. Previously the guides were made by Nintendo power, but then Nintendo Power stopped publication of guides and the magazine, so then the guides were made by Prima. I felt that the prima guides were very poor quality and left out a lot of info that should have been there (I was better off playing the games without the guides). I will never buy a Prima guide, again, I don't know how they are still around.

Great companion to the game
Great companion to the game. This Walkthrough doesn't have an extensive pokedex or complete guide to catching everything, but I bought the Pokedex book in addition to this Walkthrough and together they are extensive knowledge sources to complete your game! The book is much larger than the guides for the directly previous Pokemon X and Pokemon Y games. This book is slightly larger than a standard 8 - 1/2" by 11" sheet of printer paper, whereas the previous guides were about half that size. The larger book makes it a little more cumbersome to use on your lap while playing (especially being a softcover), and more difficult to use on the go (I.E., in the car). The content is great though, very thorough. My only complaint is the front cover of both this book AND the external (additional) Pokedex Manual curl up awkwardly. They began to curl like this even before I used the books, while sitting flat on the table. I weighed them down for about 24 hours, but they still curl up like crazy!

No, it doesn't have a complete Pokédex...yet.
A lot of people give this book negative reviews because it doesn't have a complete Pokédex, which I totally understand. However, the Pokémon X and Y handbook didn't have one either when the first edition came out, so this one doesn't either. On a little piece of paper inside the inside front cover of the book, it notified me that there would be a complete version coming March 2015. Why they do this, I don't know. But I don't think it's really worth giving the book negative reviews over. Pros: 1) Lots of colorful illustrations. 2) Complete list telling where each TM is (I really needed this!) 3) Info on the Battle Maison and the Battle Chatelaine sisters' teams (kind of disappointed the Battle Frontier from Emerald wasn't there, but it is what it is. Maybe it'll be added in a DLC). 4) And a lot of other features that would take too long to explain. Cons: 1) Obviously no National Pokédex, but there are many online resources for this (Bulbapedia, Pokemondb, Serebii, etc.) Overall, a really good buy. And I bought it for less than it said on the back cover, so thanks for that, Amazon!

A Great Guide
This is a very comprehensive guide for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. I've been a big fan of Pokémon for a while, so I played the original Ruby and Sapphire when they came out. Without giving you spoilers, OR and AS are a little different than their predecessors. It helps to have a guide like this in case you lose yourself somewhere in the storyline, or want to know where to catch a specific pokémon. All in all, I completely recommend it!

This is an amazing guidebook! It doesn't only help you with a walkthrough of the main adventure, but it gives you things to do post-game that you might have forgotten or missed. It gives you lists of mirage spots, TMs/HMs and their locations, even all the Secret Bases and an outline of each one. Pokemon moves and compatibility charts come in handy too, as well as a detailed map of the Hoenn region with all the mirage spots. Very handy!

As an avid fan of Pokemon and being 11 when the first Ruby and Sapphire game out I was no stranger to this game. I do have to admit I didn't need to guide, but I wanted it as a collectors item and to use and walkthrough my games with for fun. The amount of happy nostalgia this brought me is amazing seeing as I have the original guide somewhere in the house. This guide was so hard to get hold of. This guide is filled with detail, beautiful printing, it's quite thick and not like a little wafer like many other guides are. It goes through everything with enough detail to help but not enough detail to spoil everything for you. The only thing I will say that should have been involved was a full Pokedex guide, there IS a Pokedex with some helpful hints on each Pokemon but it does not describe their detailed stats like on Bulbapedia or every way to obtain them or every Pokemon out there. The Pokedex will be released in a few months from now. It does have a quality items/TM list which is very helpful. It goes into detail after the Elite Four and gives you plenty of things to do once it's all over. Not finding the game hard enough? turn off your EXP Share. I am in my twenties and I absolutely adore the remakes, the originals and this guide. It's worth the money if you're going to use it properly, want to display it or want happy memories. I wouldn't say it's perfect but it is very good.
