Successfully flashed OTA with Tasmota!
I bought this to integrate with my Home Assistant setup. I used the specified app first, and that worked ok, but I wanted to post this for anyone who might be in the same place as I was. I was able to flash Tasmota firmware over the air to these plugs, and run the tasmota app. I haven't managed to figure out the configuration of the status LED, but that is pretty low on my priority list. Everything else on this plug works great. Took some time to figure it all out, but for the price, I'm very happy.

Are you tech savvy enough?
If you have the latest WIFI requirements like Google WiFi mesh and Pixel 2 XL phone, you will have a hard time to set up these smart plugs. You phone maybe running on 5GHz WiFi band, while these plugs only run on 2.4GHz. The latest phone probably cannot be forced to run on a certain band (intend to hide the complexity of the technology from average consumer), so your phone may not be able to see these plugs. There are some tricks you could use to make it work with the latest WiFi, but you need to be tech savvy. I ended up to cover the Google WiFi routers with aluminum foil to block the radio signal, force the phone switch to 2.4GHz because the signal has better penetration ability than 5GHz.Other people used more complicated methods like use old router, or use second phone as WiFi hotspot, would also work. Once the plugs are setup, they are working great. The Smart Life app has its own issue which I only gave it 3 stars in Android app store, but it may not be considered as the defects of this smart plug.

Does what I need it to do, beautifully
The switch cover on the floor lamp next to my recliner in the living room broke a couple yrs ago, making it impossible to turn the lamp on and off without plugging in and unplugging from the outlet. Just very annoying. I'm a big Amazon Echo fan and was interested in a smart device that would control the lamp. Ordered this plug, setup was easy, connecting to the Alexa app was easy, and now I just tell Alexa to turn the smart plug on or off and it works like a charm. Very, very pleased. Only complaint is -- could the print on the instructions BE any smaller?! Just about impossible to read.

Tasmota compatible as of 23 Dec 2020
Purchased these on 17 Dec 2020 and again on 23 Dec 2020. I was able to flash all 8 plugs with Tasmota 8.5.1 using Tuya-Convert and the instructions with Template the blakadder.com site. Have begun deploying them around the house with no observed issues. For those of you having issues flashing these plugs with Tuya-Convert, don't give up! Six of my eight plugs flashed very easily though there were a few reports of being unable to backup the original firmware. Another plug took multiple attempts and at one point, reported the "Device did not appear with the intermediate firmware" status but then completed successfully after restarting the conversion. The remaining device just did not want to cooperate. At one point, I assumed that I had bricked it somehow. After putting it aside for a while, I tried again. The Tuya-Convert software tried until timing out, I restarted it, and almost immediately, the update began. The plugs appear to be quite adequate in terms of construction and finish. Only time will tell how good their guts are. I was considering the purchase of 4 more but am disappointed to find they are out of stock (as of 1/7/21). If they become available again, I very much hope they continue to be Tasmota compatible. If they aren't, I won't be buying them.

Good Budget Smart plug with Alexa integration.
A good, inexpensive smart plug to light up the Christmas tree via timer or voice through Alexa.Easy setup with the Smart-Life app. I have several devices using this app and some have to use the Manual 'AP' mode, but this one was easily found with an auto-scan. Took less then 1-minute to integrate with Alexa, add to a group and have voice control.Size is good and these rectangular ones can easily have 2 installed in the same standard 2-plug outlet. The round plugs are just a bit to big to be able to use 2.

Clueless Tech Support
The Devices work just fine, but the Technical Support is terrible. I am running 12 smart plugs for months and using the Smart Life App skill to control them with Alexa. I wanted to change a schedule on one of the devices and the Smart Life App people deleted my account. The devices are still running to the old schedule but I can not change anything. I contacted tech support and they told me to just recreate everything and start all over again reprogramming all 12 devices. I told them I could but what would stop them from deleting my account again and they have no answer. They are clueless!!!!

Efun no fun with Tasmota
Efun may be great as they are but no fun if you want to use Tasmota firmware. Many issues flashing OTA. Seems like they would flash ok but then not boot correctly. If lucky one would boot properly 1 out of 10 times.Only got 1 of 4 working with OTA flashing. Had to crackthe other 3 open and hard wire flash. Still it took a few firmware updates before theywere stable. Now stable on 6.7.1The nice thing about these is that they give power info.

One failed after a few weeks
Nice and cheap and perfect for running Christmas lights around the house. (This was my use case) Not sure why it failed, as the Christmas lights were well below the rated 10A on the label.I had one fail after only a few weeks. Will update this review if I can get it replaced by the vendor, but reading the other reviews, it seems unlikely. Note that these may be hit or miss for you.
