Just plug in the plug into an outlet, plug the device into the plug, then pull the battery tabs on the remote, and it is ready to go. You can put the remote anywhere. I needed a device to turn on both the back lamp behind my computer desk and the decretive wall on the wall, both in my office. With the remote, I can choose to turn on one or the other, or both, as needed. It works great. The only drawback is the receiver plugs are the exact diameter of a outlet, so you can fit both plugs in one regular electrical dual outlet, but if you have a large AC adapter or plug plugged into one electric port in a dual outlet, it might not fit in the remaining electrical port, so plan ahead.

I recently had my office lamps plugged into touch pad dimmers, but needed to switch to something else because they started flickering (I was using LED bulbs - incompatible with the touch pad dimmers). I went ahead and purchased the two plug adapters with one remote so I can turn both lamps on and off without using the chain pulls and wearing them out over time. Plugged each one in, and they work flawlessly! I can control each lamp in my office now with the push of a button while sitting at my desk. No flickering, no lag, not a single problem so far. Makes me want to purchase more and use them all over the house!!! I couldn't be happier with this purchase. The quality is excellent. I feel like these will last for a very long time. I did end up attaching Velcro strips to the back of the magnetic pad (against the sticker that is on the back that should attach to whatever surface you choose) so it will be easier to access the batteries and gives a much sturdier "stick" to the surface, as some Reviewers said that the stickers weren't strong enough, and the remote and magnetic pad would fall. (Thanks for the heads-up, Reviewers!!!)

Very easy to use! Comes pre-paired. The control unit fits magnetically to the base which attaches to the wall (via peel n stick adhesive). Works as advertised! The only three things that I will mention are: 1) Keep in mind that they plug into the outlet and stick out about 1-1.5” from the wall, so factor that in. Probably not the best for tight spaces like behind a couch that’s up against the wall. 2) Makes a quiet click sound every time you push on or off. Doesn’t bother me at all but something to know. 3) Because of the round design, it extends a tiny bit beyond the space of one outlet (into the area of the outlet above or below). So, if you're plugging it into the top outlet, the bottom outlet is usable for a two-prong plug but not a three-prong plug. (or vice versa)

Works as advertised. Worked out of box without paring.

I have several of these. I’m a little more old school in that I don’t want everything I own attached to WiFi. I wanted a way to turn on and off floor lamps in various rooms without having to go over and turn their little knobs. These are perfect and work like a charm. There’s no set up really. Just plug and go. There are two things I wish were different. 1) I wish the piece that plugged into the outlet was smaller. It’s large and prevents you from being able to plug anything else into the other outlet (unless you use a surge protector extension cord). 2) The on/off switch comes with a plate that you stick to the wall and the on/off switch magnetizes to it. I hate this. I accidentally knock it off all the time because it’s dark and I can’t see the switch. What I’ve done instead is just use those 3M strips and velcro it to the wall instead of using the little plate thing.

This has become an absolute must for my apartment, as the living room doesn't have an installed overhead light. The signal is strong enough to reach from my car when I am parked outside, and it's nice to have the place light up before I open the door after a day of work. I plugged the second socket into my bedside lamp, and just keeping the remote with me has become habit. If I have any complaint, it's that I wish I could buy more base plates for the remote so it can sit secured in my car or other rooms

We have multiple of these. They work well and are very convenient for those lights that require too much travel in the dark to turn on.
