I even planted some this time after soaking them in water overnight. Pleased that every single one sprouted. I think they'll do very well here in the Pacific Northwest. I love mushy peas!

Batchelors Bigga Dried Peas - 6 x 250gm These peas are very easy to prepare and they're delicious!The dried peas are soaked for 12 hours with the included soaking tablets, and, after draining and rinsing the peas, they're ready to be cooked. As another reviewer has stated, in the last couple of minutes of cooking, the peas reach the proper consistency.I don't add sugar to the peas, but I do add spices or herbs to put a spin on things. The peas are very tasty with the addition of chopped up fresh garlic and onions added to the cooking liquid; I use some kind of stock rather than just plain water. They're even better when finished off with a tablespoon of salted butter being stirred in after being cooked.The mushy peas go great with fish and chips, meat pies, or as a side dish for any kind of meal. One of my favorites is spreading the mushy peas on bread or a baguette topped with fish fingers for a "fish finger sarnie".Yes, I'm a Brit living in the US, and I love my mushy peas! It's a taste of home.

I was unsure about this product having never tasted it before but since I watch a lot of British food shows, thought I’d give it a try and I am thoroughly impressed. Makes the best pea soup.

Last night I ate ribeye, steak fries (the nearest you can get to UK chips) and a dollop of these mushy peas. What a treat! These are easy to cook if you don't leave your eye off them - they boil over very easily. You only have to deal with one incident to learn! Happily I have learned to prepare dinner with my head swiveled toward the pot all the time while they are simmering. They are best if they are not boiled at all, as the skins separate and float to the top, but if it does happen, don't worry. You still have a delicious dish of mushy peas.You might need to add salt but that's a personal preference.

If you’re English, and live in US, and you grew up with fish, chips, and mushy peas, THESE are the ones you want. They come with the soaking tablets inside. 2 soaking tablets would be used for the full box. Then you dissolve the two tablets in boiling water, add the dried peas, and soak overnight. They swell so make sure to add the amount of water as specified on the instructions. And the pack of 6 is the best value for money, which you absolutely should buy, because it’s a product that does go out of stock, as i have found to my peril. I can’t be without my mushy peas

My wife, who now lives in Texas, was born in England and lived most of her life in Canada. She loves what she calls “mushy peas” with malt vinegar, as it reminds her of the old country. She swears that these are one-hundred percent excellent and that they are the real thing. I buy her a dozen boxes at a time, and they go fast.

Although you need to prep the peas well in advance, was a breeze to make and turned out great. One box can do about 4 servings and all you need to add is a bit of salt and/or sugar - which i do recommend.

We love mushy peas! Fish and chips, pie and peas and our favourite steak chips and mushy peas but why oh oh why or why can't you get them in any major supermarket. Thanks Jeff for providing what the big four can't. Could be cheaper though.

These peas are hard to find in local supermarkets have for our pea and ham soups delicious so glade we got these ordered a few packs so we are happy thank you kindly milly molly
