Poor App and Support
I have spent my entire Xmas/New Year trying to work out what I am doing wrong. The Sky Alignment fails everytime and now, the WiFi on the actual telescope has topped working. I have just a flashing red indicator and no Wi-Fi hotspot. Not in the manual or anywhere on the Celestrong website, does it give a list of reasons (or troubleshooting) for when WiFi isn't working or what the different indicators mean. There is also nothing on the website which explains how to reset the thing either.I am very experienced with technology and was recommended this telescope as a great amateur telescope to start with. I would not recommend this product, simply down to the poor implementation of the App, the WiFi and level of troubleshooting support that is available from the manufacturer.I have opened a ticket with Celestron to see if they can support. Otherwise it is being returned. Absolutely heartbroken and disappointed.

Wi-fi does not work
Only buy if you want an expensive 102mm Cassegrain optical tube - that part is 'ok', but i'm no expert. The rest does not work. The wi-fi drops out constantly and that's if you finally manage to make a connection. Mount was sent off to be 'fixed' but it came back worse than before - could not connect to wi-fi at all! With no wi-fi app connection the mount is locked in place - you cannot manually move the mount left and right, you have to move the whole tripod. I wanted a simple to use first telescope and this turned into a nightmare.

Stunning quality and ease of use
I've read reviews complaining how WiFi is causing issues for people with Android phones, etc. I bought it anyway, as it was cheaper than competition and I really liked the idea of integrating it with Android app. Frankly, it crossed all my expectations. Optics quality is superb, I had no issues seeing details of the Moon and planets like Jupiter or Saturn. I even got very nice photos of Mars with it!I had 0 issues with WiFi stability either - as long as I remembered to turn off automatic WiFi management in my phone, as that causes WiFi to fallback to 4G connection when phone doesn't detect internet in WiFi network created by telescope. Ergo, this is a phone settings issue and not actual telescope mount problem!Tracking works very well, it's easy to set up too. What they do not mention in most reviews is that you can connect this mount to the home router as well (it doesn't have to be direct connection to mobile device!). In such way you can use Windows app CPWI to command, align etc. the mount. It's a very powerful free app with star maps and! full support for gamepads. It means, I was able to use my xbox gamepad, through that app to actually slewing the telescope very accurately (analogue sticks, with variable speeds using XYAB buttons etc.).Reviews online also do not tell you that you can use mobile powerbank (I use 10k mAh) with this, buying a relatively cheap converter cable that ups voltage from 5V to 12V and has proper plug for this telescope. This works great and telescope is never short on power, working better than on AA batteries for me.To summarise, this is powerful and very portable telescope. It's small, lightweight, mount and stand are good enough for the size and the price (especially on sale now and then) is also fair. I like it more than the ones with physical remote that I had before, for sure. Especially with the gamepad in use, which gives me very precise control when I need that.

Good piece of equipment, look elsewhere first though...
Really good product, a bit tricky to calibrate initially but easy once know how to. Something I realised after buying it though, is the price comparison... Google it first :)

Gutted - had to return it.
I’m gutted. This was delivered today. We had a lovely clear sky and Venus was visible (but as you will see below I could not view it). However I just could not get this to work. First of all it was not broadcasting a WiFi signal. I eventually got it to broadcast by standing away from the house (as read that your home WiFi can interfere - even though I turned it off) managed to get it working outside although I could still get my WiFi and all of the neighbours WiFi’s were visible. Worked for a good hour but I could not get the app to align the scope. It kept failing. And then all of a sudden without moving it stopped broadcasting. Which was particularly annoying as I was moving the scope at the time so it just kept spinning with the only way of stopping it being to turn it off.I’m going to try again but if it does not work unfortunately this will have to be sent back as it’s too much money for something that does not work as described. If I can get it working I will also update this review and rating.Note the rating as my pictures of the moon were amazing. So there is nothing wrong with the scope just the mount.Update. Read that the align issue was as the scope may not have been level. Not sure how to fix this as no level on the tripod.Did try again the following day and after 3 hours of trying and failing to connect to the mount it was boxed up and sent back.I’ve bought one with a keypad and no WiFi plus a level on the tripod. I’ve gone for the nexstar 90 SLT which I had considered first but was £100 more. Luckily it’s been reduced to only £40 more than I spent on the Astro fi now.
