UPDATED: One year on
What a find! I did not want to spend masses of cash on a panel, but really wanted something that would power a portable coolbox whilst camping for a weekend. To do this, I purchased a 75 Ah leisure battery. The solar controller that comes with the panel measures coolbox current at around 4.7 A, and in full sun with the panel angled towards the sun accurately, it produces about 5 A.When a cloud comes over, this can reduce by 50%, hence why battery is needed to "fill in the gaps". But insofar as this use case is concerned, it fully met the requirement to keep the beer, barbecue meat and milk cool for a long weekend camping with no electrical hookup. The panel is very thin too, when compared to some of the much more chunky designs, so it takes up little space and its light weight and fabric / plastic covering allows it to be laid directly on your car without scratching. Pro tip: get a longer lead so that you can site the leisure battery in your tent whilst putting the panel on the car windscreen!UPDATE: So, 1 year on, and although after multiple camping trips this panel has worked well, the panels have degraded in performance. Instead of producing around 5A with direct overhead sun, this is now around 3.2A maximum which is quite a reduction in performance (>30%). I'm not sure what has done this or whether it's the panel or the provided controller that has degraded but sadly it's not enough to run the coolbox without a chunky leisure battery to provide the "missing" power. For that reason, I'm dropping 2 stars which is about the ratio of power that I have now vs the original. :(

An excellent solar panel for charging a power station
I bought this to charge my Allpowers 372Wh power station. It works very well but the thing is, if you are charging via the Anderson Powerpole, you need an XT60 to anderson cable which this kit does not come with.It does come with an XT60 plug and cable with the red and black exposed wires. So make sure you have the right cables if you are using it to charge any power station via the Anderson power pole. The kit comes with the classic cable and clips so you can charge a car battery and the controller.Strangely when I attach the controller, it doesn't charge my power station.... The screen doesn't even come on...When i used it today, i was getting like 50W of power and that was the tail end of the sunshine today. When i use it at noon, i am expecting close to 80W of power which will charge my powerstation in a matter of hours !

Great portable kit
Excellent product, does what it says. In full clear sunlight delivers the promised approx 5amp of current. However that current drops very quick in even partial shade. However the portability is great and the charge controller it comes in is good and looked quite sturdy. Have used it 4 times now with no issues. Only given 4 stars as the cable it comes with is very short - I sorted that by extending the cable with standard 2 core wire. This is necessary when camping in shade so that the panel can be moved 15 meters away from the car in the sunlight.

easy to use
The panel is easy to install and works good. the controller is not the best, means not easy to understand how it works, but it does the job. A good thing is, that it is water prove, as we used it at the West coast of Scotland...the way how it is packed together is very practical and handy.

Easy to get going
Worked as soon as connected.I use it to charge a battery to run my amateur radio. In case of an outage I will still be able to keep in touch with other amateur radio friends all over the world. Also when we are allowed to go out I will use it out portable to run my radios.Pity it will not boil a kettle (joke) but a calor stove will take care of that.

Worth the money
Does exactly what we want it to do. Been away on site without electric hook up all last week and had no problem watching tv or using lights. Admittedly weather was good with plenty of sun. Was a bonus being able to plug mobiles direct into the unit

Almost 5 Star
Could have been 5* but, as others have said, the lead from the panel to the controller should be longer or a compatible extension lead offered. Otherwise simple to install and operate.

More than enough charge for my needs.
Took it camping and it kept my 20ah battery charged no problem at all. USB outlets kept phones and tablets charged. Great bit of kit if you don’t want electric hook ups. Must say it was being left in direct sunlight for the majority. Think it may still work on a cloudy day but obviously not quite as efficiently.
