Kuryakyn Ultra Tour 4148 -- awesome bag, very nice. ADDED INFO 07-14-2013
This is a great bag. There's a lot of capacity; I can fit my camera bag inside, plus probably a rainsuit or similar .. that doesn't tell you anything though. The interior compartment of the bag measures, in inches, 12wide x 12deep x 16tall. It's one big, empty cavern. The four pockets each measure approx. 12wide x 2deep x 7tall, and are expandable by a couple inches. The zippers are "waterproof" but that doesn't mean you can dunk them in the lake and expect dry insides. They're self-sealing, and quality is right up there. I can see how a few folks have had problems with the zippers breaking .. the zipper pulls are not confidence-inspiring. If anything breaks, I'd expect it to be that the zipper pull comes off the zipper. That's the only nitpick I've got. Everything is well-constructed and of very high quality; it's a nice-looking bag; there are many solid D-rings for tie-downs, and they seem well-placed. I can see this bag lasting a long time; would buy again.**ADDED 04/30/2013 **I've been using this bag for a week now, to carry stuff back/forth to work. The inner compartment is big enough that I can fit my laptop bag in there, my leather jacket, and some lunch items... in other words, it's plenty big!The tie-downs are adequate to secure the bag, but I've added a couple bungee cords to make it more secure. A few things about the design to think about, that aren't readily visible in the photo currently on Amazon:-- There are two straps hanging down on the front. They're the right length to go under the bag, loop around the sissy bar, and buckle back; they're obviously designed specifically for the bag to sit on a luggage rack. Kuryakyn could improve these straps by screwing them on instead of riveting; I'd like to remove them since I've got no use for them, and they're just hanging there.-- There are a lot of metal loops, securely sewn to the bag, on each side. This makes it very easy to secure bungees or other luggage / straps; they do get in the way when you go to open one of the side "doors", but there's really no way around it. They're high-quality and very secure. In case a Kuryakyn representative reads these reviews: guys, you are just a tiny bit behind Saddlemen when it comes to bag quality. Only the teeniest amount .. which could be remedied by more secure zipper pulls and maybe beefing up the metal loops that are so plentiful on the bag. They seem like if I really ratchet them down hard, they could succumb to metal fatigue.**ADDED 07/14/2013 **I've used the bag now for around 1,000 miles, in rain, snow, and sun. There have been no let-me-downs so far; the bag is rigid and eminently usable.I find that over the past 3000 miles (I've used this bag for about a third of the miles, and another bag for the other 2k), I prefer the other bag I bought at about the same time (also reviewed on amazon.com -- Saddlemen bag). It's easier to use, and the zippers aren't so difficult to move. Mind you, the zippers on the other bag aren't waterproof at all ... on this bag, the zippers truly seem waterproof so far, in downpours even. This bag has done a better job of keeping my gear dry. I've found no water in the bag, and it's sat thru a day of rain storms. The rain cover is great, too.The bag is a little more difficult to attach to the bike than my Saddlemen, and a little less stable if you don't use the part that goes over the passenger backrest. I really winch it down for camping trips. The bag holds a lot of stuff! I carry my camera bag (carrying two cameras and four lenses plus accessories), camping pillow, and Frogg Toggs rain gear in the main compartment .. and I carry most of my small electronics in the side pockets. I don't usually worry about putting the electronics in a baggie, since so far there's been no water invasion.**ADDED 05/12/2014 **I took a 3,000 mile trip out west, using this bag and my Saddlemen bag both (I carry a lot of stuff on my trips). I used the Kury bag every single day, no matter where I was travelling... it carried my 30 pounds of camera gear, along with a rain jacket and some small electronics in the pockets. Rain or shine, this bag kept everything well-protected. The zippers, D-rings, and materials held up well, and those straps I complained about, on the front of the bag? I used them to hold a small pillow for my back, the bag was at just the right spot to provide a little lumbar support with that pillow. All in all, a well-constructed, well-thought-out bag.

Excellent, except no attachment for rain cover and not really a backrest
Used this bag on a 1400 mile road trip. It worked very well, exactly as specified. The only thing taking a star off (wish I could make it a 4.5), is that there was nothing given to help hold the rain cover on. I improvised and used a bungee cord wrapped around the entire contraption, but I felt like very little concern was given to the way to secure the rain cover, which is totally unlike the rest of the bag. My solution did work, and for the 3-4 hours of rain, nothing inside got wet (which I'm very thankful for, as I was carrying several electronics!).One other minor note, which likely has more to do with me and my bike than the bag... I'm only 5'1", and I attached this to the passenger seat on my VTX-1300. Between the roominess of the passenger seat and my height, there was no way I could use this as a backrest in that position. My 6'0" brother had the same trouble, and only my 6'3" nephew had a chance at a backrest. I'm used to riding without one, so it wasn't a big deal to me, but it may be important to others.

Well Made, Roomy Bag...
This bag is well made and sturdy. I used it on a recent 2400 mile road trip. It held all my clothing and more! It's size is just large enough to fit on the passenger seat, while providing me a nice back rest. There are plenty of "D" ring connectors to attach the bag. I used only two straps, and the bag stayed securely in place. Two issues (or suggestions for the manufacturer) would be the elimination of the two forward straps, and replace them with "D" rings. The second suggestion might be to add wheels and a collapsable handle/strap so the bagcan bu pulled behind when walking to the hotel room. i would reccommend this bag to friends with those two caveats.

love it, roomy and visually pleasing
I love Kuryakyn products for many reasons; functional, aesthetic, and durability. All my luggage is from Kuryakyn. I have used the Ultra Tour bag for many 4-5 day trips and it holds everything I need...and more. It Attaches nicely to my Sissy Bar and the extra 'D' rings are useful for attaching additional items/luggage. It also comes with a rain cover that works very well and is thick , meaning it won't tear when placing over the bag. Finally, I love that Kuryakyn products are relatively low profile and really don't stick out like a bloated eyesore. Some bags on the market look so out of place. Kuryakyn products almost look like stock items without sacrificing room. Can't go wrong with this one.

Road King 1800 mile cross country trip
Used this for a x-country trip from Denver to Milwaukee for the harley 110th celebration. Didn't have rain on the trip so can't comment on the water resistance. Construction was heavy duty and functional and the appearance was outstanding. Attachment points to the back rest and saddlebag guards were solid and worked easily for quick on and offs. Didn't come with locks but I bought a small one at Walmart for three dollars and it worked nicely. Although not as large as the Saddleman, the expandable pockets allowed more room for storage. I was able to fit rain suit, extra pair of riding boots, first aid kit, full size helmet, fire extinguisher, socks and underwear for 6 nights, extra maps, camera and assorted small items collected on the trip. If you don't have an OEM top case, then this is a great alternative.

Excellent travel companion
Ordered the bag and it was received very quickly. I inspected the bag and all compartments and zippers and it is very well built. I had the pleasure of eye-balling this bag at Daytona Bike Week last week and after being able to get hands on, I knew I had to have it. I saved a lot by purchasing it on Amazon vs. the bike week. Perfect fit on my 2013 Road King. It's excellent for a back rest when riding alone on a trip. Very happy with this bag. Kuryakyn seems to be able to make excellent luggage for bikes. Looking forward to purchasing my next Kuryakyn 4143 bag to compliment the 4148.
