Segway Ninebot ES4 Folding Electric Kick Scooter with Second Battery, Dark Grey (2018 Version)

Update: i have been able to hit 15-20miles/hr through increased use. However the range still comes up short around 12-18 miles before needing to recharge depending on incline. I have yet to reach the advertised 26 miles per charge, or even 20 miles per charge would be nice. I have been reached out by Segway support and they are currently helping to figure out why my particular scooter is having issues with range. I have several friends with this exact unit model and they have had no issues of speed and range. I’m hoping Segway will help me figure out what’s wrong, or help me to ship it back for repairs or a refund. So far Segway customer service has been extremely supportive and committed to customer satisfaction. I will update again.Original post: Speed and range not as described. Does not go 18mph, nor 26miles on one charge. More like 15mph and 18miles on one charge. Very big difference.Also, Amazon prime will not honor the return policy because “we are unable to ship products with lithium batteries in it because they pose a fire hazard”. Wish they had listed that somewhere before I bought it. Kind of funny that they had no problems shipping it to me, but when I want to return it now it’s a fire hazard.

I ordered my Ninebot ES4 on Dec. 26th and got it Jan. 4th. A bit of a wait, but so friggin worth it! Just took it out for a night time test ride in Hoboken nj and I had lots of fun zipping around town. Definitely worth the wait and the money. Just please make sure to get a good quality helmet and gloves and try to stay on relatively smooth roads. Your scooter and your body will love you for it. UPDATE! 2/16/2019 After about a month of enjoying riding my new scooter it suddenly dyed... with a full charge it had powered down while I was riding it only a few blocks to work. Apparently the electronic braking system in the Hub had seized up and locked the front wheel permanently. Hopefully I'll get a response from the seller very soon as I really love my scooter and can't wait to get back to enjoying it. Good luck to everyone else. Mark, UPDATE #2 After reaching out to the Technical support team at segway and sending them my es4, they decided to send me a new one which I received March 7th. And now that one is acting up as well. The head light when activated will reduce your speed and engage your brake so I don't use the headlight. And now after about a week or so the brake lights don't work at all but the scooter still runs. I've reached out to segway again via email 3 days ago and still haven't heard back from them. This scooter is so much fun to ride when it's running properly, it's sad that it has so many problems. I think I'm going to have to request a full refund. Ordering process (2/5):The scooter shipped about 10 days late. It is packaged well and arrived in perfect condition.Assembly (4/5):No problems. Simple, about 10 minute set up. Scooter kept beeping at me until I linked it through the app. Took about another 15 mins to download firmware updates which installed without a glitch. I found the only slightly tricky part was connecting the cable in the handle bars, the connection is tight and I was concerned about messing it up.The ride (5/5):I'm 6ft and 190lbs and the scooter moves thanks to the added second battery. Easily reaches full speed of 19mph on level surface and 16mph+ on steep inclines or against strong wings. It is relatively quiet comparing to my previous GoTrax GXL which screamed from the front wheel during acceleration (and their support said that is normal). Setting up colors through the app is simple and there are lots of modes to choose from. So far there is no issue with loss of power when the headlight is on. I like to jump curbs and even though this scooter is on the heavier side the front/rear suspension does a nice job absorbing the impact.Dislikes:It seems after this latest firmware there is a governor in place and when you reach the top speed (19mph) it will not let you accelerate passed it, even down the hill. Takes a little bit of fun out of it (I like speed), but all in all probably a good safety feature. Nevertheless I've seen 20mph a few brief times so take that, governor. :)The electronic brake (left hand) is not functioning properly. When I hit it during top speeds it shuts down the whole scooter. Currently dealing with customer service on warranty repair - and so far I've had a great experience. Prompt feedback via phone calls and emails. Will try to post update after the issue is resolved.Disclaimer:If this is your daily last mile solution like it if for me, please consider wearing a helmet. Your family will thank you.UPDATE: Jan 21, 2019Sent the scooter to a repair facility in Michigan with the front brake problem. The process was simple. Even though I was told I would be responsible for shipping it there, I received a pre-paid shipping label and just dropped it off at Fedex. It was free. Had a couple of interactions with customer support, provided very in-depth details of the problem. They ended up replacing the control board but unfortunately it didn't fix the problem. Sigh. Because this issue only happens when it's cold out I'll probably not bother with it anymore and learn to live with it. Still love the scooter as a fun last mile commuter solution.

Avere un freno meccanico renderebbe il suo utilizzo più rilassato e sicuro.Autonomia, velocità, robustezza, trasporto, chiusura, ecc.... davvero eccezionali! Il SW e l'app sono curati ed affidabili/upgradabili. Davvero un ottimo prodotto peccato per l'assenza del freno a disco/tamburo.

Monopattino perfetto, durata della batteria superiore. Veloce e ben ammortizzato....

È progettato male, non è robusto affatto, le viti che fissano lo stelo del manubrio si allentano da sole sino a staccarsi da sole. Sono finita a terra dopo che si è staccato il manubrio. Sconsiglio vivamente di acquistare da Smartfurure: non mi hanno fornito alcuna assistenza, accusandomi che io fossi la causa del problema. Pessimo venditore!

Es4 exceeded expectation well and truly capable of doing 50km in a day. With its self recharge function when you push it around still had 10km of battery left at the end of the day. Highly recomend commuter scooter . Great fo zipping around the city.
