Philadelphia Candies Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffles Net Wt 1 lb

The first box was fine. Then we ordered 2 more on sale. The second order was partially melted and had some weird wax-like tiny pellets on some of the pieces. Hit or miss. The second order would not have been gift-able. Have no idea what those little pellets are.

The original review is below and it seems the company itself set to make things right when amazon didn't. But long and short of it is that the company tried to call me directly (not sure how they got my number by I assume amazon) about the issue but I didn't pick up since I never answer unknown numbers on my cell. But I did get the voice mail about them being sorry about it and so on, normal stuff and I was fine with that. It happened and not really the suppliers fault but then a bit later I get a package directly from them sent via the USPS of all things. It was two of these inside and they were frozen from the weather so I didn't end up with a brick.I am glad they did this because these ended up being the best chocolates I had over the holiday, the two boxes were gone well before the fanny may or sees stuff. I was even surprised how many I did eat of them before I had noticed, they are just good. Even better frozen, since they came like that I had one without thinking and then another one after they had warmed up and it was way better cold. This is something I can see getting again in the future, just maybe order direct from the company and not amazon since they had a letter and a catalog in there.It was totally junk by the time it showed up 7 days late, but the issue is more with amazon then the item but since the item was a melted pile and I did break off a bit to taste it but it was just normal kinda cheap tasting chocolate and not a hint of peanut butter but this could have been from being massively melted and cooled over and over.Got it amazon 2 day, it took almost 8 days to show up because they sent it out UPS with the USPS label on it so then it just sat there at UPS till I got amazon to finally do something about it. This new handing it off to the post office for delivery is a huge pain in the butt. Nothing I have sent that ends up in the hands of the USPS never shows up on time or else it's beaten to hell.

The best peanut butter/chocolate combo ever. Basically melts in your mouth. Chocolate is so good and peanut butter is smooth. I will be buying again.

Amazon shipped them in just a cardboard sleeve the same size as the box offering no insulation. Yes I am in Florida when it was 78 degrees but I have had other chocolates shipped just fine being packaged inside a larger box providing insulation. Even the two day shipping did not help. Delivered in the evening by UPS so maybe combined with their hot truck I don't know. I received one glob of melted mess that was a total loss of the money spent. I will never order chocolate from Amazon again because of their awful thought of packaging. Be forewarned if you are in a warm climate. Maybe if other things are ordered so they have to put it in a bigger box it would be okay but by themselves check your weather forecast before ordering. I have not heard a word back from Amazon. No return/refund policy on this and no response upon review of the packaging.I give Amazon NO stars for Amazon packaging.UPDATE:I got an amazing phone call fom John at Philadelphia candies that somehow tracked me down by my original review only hours after I placed it.He was truly concerned about how I received their product because of Amazon's shipping. He sent me a replacement packaged properly and the candies were absolutely beautiful compared the the first mess I got. Better yet they are even better tasting than I was expecting. I was trying to replicate a candy from Gardner's but these turned out even creamier and better. I am really really impressed with the concern and care Philadelphia Candies took in the matter. They will ship on ice for warm climates. Next order will be direct from them.If you live in a warm climate I would recommend dealing with Philadelphia candies directly. Amazon should be fine for areas where temperature won't be an issue.Just a warning so you don't waste money like I thought I originally did. I never did hear back from Amazon even after filling out their packaging review sending photos.These candies are just awesome so just order some already!

The milk chocolate on the truffles tasted authentic. I didn't get that waxy taste like I would on a Reese's peanut butter cup. I do like peanut butter and chocolate combinations immensely, so I have eaten many Reese's peanut butter cups in my life. It is one of the few candies I'll eat as an adult. However, Reese's peanut butter cups are like a cheap fix to get me by. These truffles are much more of what I really seem to be craving!These truffles are so good because of the combination of authentic milk chocolate with quality peanut butter inside. The peanut butter tasted like real, creamy peanut butter, and I never got the impression I was eating a chemical factory product. (This means the peanut butter taste is more subtle than a Reese's and more like real peanut butter. Real does not equal weak imho.) They tasted homemade, and I deeply appreciated that since I don't want to take the time to make this sort of thing myself. They were filling and (by the standards of candy lol) wholesome.I thought that getting 24 of them (approximately) for about $22 was a good deal for the quality of the truffles. Considering how good they were, I was very grateful that I was only paying about $1 each. I have spent that ratio of money on much less satisfying foods.btw They shipped in perfect condition and quickly. Also, I didn't freeze or heat them. I ate them at room temperature.I would definitely buy these again. To be honest, I have restrained myself from buying them again so soon as they do seem to be addictive to me.

A very tasty chocolate however they were delivered as a mass of melted chocolate. Must have been in a very hot environment in transit.

These things are simply amazing. Only buy these if you are sharing or do not care if you get heavier.
