The camera is very easy to figure out; much easier to get it to focus where I want it than my old Rebel XS. The 18-55 STM lens has a much better focusing range than my old 18-55 lens. I can take close flower shots with it that are almost as good as switching to my old macro lens, so I don't have to switch lenses nearly as much. I didn't realize that the 75-300 III lens wouldn't have an image stabilizer. My fault, I know; it just didn't occur to me that a lens with that much zoom could NOT have one. After testing the two, I prefer my old 55-200 IS lens because an absolutely clear sharp image without having to use a tripod is necessary for me. And the additional pixels in the new camera mean I can crop for the last bit of zoom without loosing enlargement capability. Review: Great Camera! - As a beginner to photography I wanted something smaller and lighter, but more than a point & shoot. So I did some research and decided that the Canon SL1 would be my best choice, but it wasn't made anymore. Then I found it on desertcart, and I simple could not be any happier with it. As an older adult, this will be my camera for life.

Great Camera!
As a beginner to photography I wanted something smaller and lighter, but more than a point & shoot. So I did some research and decided that the Canon SL1 would be my best choice, but it wasn't made anymore. Then I found it on Amazon, and I simple could not be any happier with it. Very happy with the Camera.. !
I really liked the combo. The addition of long focal length gives extra room to capture objects which are far. I have tried to capture full moon and to be honest, i am surprised with what this camera is capable of. I am still a beginner and so far i have i am very impressed with the ease of usage and self instructed short explanations of different settings. The camera itself is not heavy and easily carried around the neck with the strap which comes with this package. Also, the storage bag is really handy and you can easily store both the kit lenses in it without any issue. As a matter of fact, i have bought few accessories and it fits in the same bag as well. The whole package was itself packed very well and reached before the scheduled time. I am quite happy with the camera and highly recommend to anyone who has been thinking of going into more sophisticated photography.

I am amazed at all that this little camera can do
I just purchased this Canon SL1 package with the added 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Lens to upgrade from my regular Samsung Wifi Point and shoot. I am amazed at all that this little camera can do! The size is perfect and feels super comfortable in my hands unlike other ones I've held. The quality of the pictures produced by this camera are GORGEOUS and professional looking. I actually Shocked myself when I headed to the park with my daughter and just took pictures of her playing. I tried the video camera feature and was a little disappointed that it would pause the video when I took pictures (while in video mode). It may be due to me not knowing all the features of the camera, but I'll get it. If you're a quick learner, you wont be disappointed. I highly recommend getting the bundle being that it'll save you money in the long run. Also include the free accessories and you are set! I am certain that I will be enjoying this camera for many years to come and I very highly recommend it! Whether you are an amateur or a pro photographer, you will absolutely love this camera! I've posted a few shots taken with this camera using the close lens and the 75-300mm one.
