This is very well made and looks great but I gave it only 3 stars because when you install it, it does not rest level. It is at an angle and you really have to force your weight onto it so that you foot doesn't slip off. The heel needs to be about 1" longer. Unfortunately it's going back because it presents too much of a safety hazard.

I received this car doorstep by Tobfit to review. Although I was skeptical at first about how this would work on my Subaru Outback, once I tried it in both the front and rear door latch loops, I was sold on its utility. I regularly carry a Yakima roof storage unit on my vehicle and have had to always look for a bucket or stepstool to load up and unload it.This Tobfit Car Doorstep is a little bigger than a cellphone, but is well made of aluminum with non-slip step pad and a rubber end cap to protect your car finish in the doorjam. It folds nicely in the provided soft cloth storage bag and easy to store in your glove compartment or center console.Just place this in your doorjam loop, step on your door threshhold, then step up on this doorstep. Now your on top of your roof.(great for using when polishing the roof of your vehicle!)

unfortunately the footpeg sat at an angle downward not perpendicular as it should. Purchased a different unit that fit perfect

Don’t buy this if your really going to use it as a step. Today’s cars have pretty thin metal and if you weigh more than a hundred pounds your going to leave a dent.

Wish I invented this, brilliant and well designed and built. Works best on slanted door jamb. Guy who left review about the angle of step, had vertical door jamb

I just received the doorstep so I haven’t used it for the upcoming ski season. It appears to be everything as advertised. It is made of metal and looks to be very strong. It fits well on my 2017 Subaru Outback door latch. I will no longer have to stand with one foot on the latch when I put skis in and out of my rooftop box. I now have a secure platform to place my foot on. The doorstep has a nice bag to store it in and it easily slides into the pocket behind the drivers seat so I’ll have it handy when I need it. It has rubber on the part of the doorstep that rests against the car door sill so it will not scratch the paint. I can’t wait to try it out on a regular basis.

Of the three types I bought, this was the best built. Worth a few dollars more because of the shape and the rubber insert that protects the paint. Shape means it fits more cars and trucks better than the ones that are wider at the back. You will know what I mean when you buy it, or if you buy the wrong one that has a wider back. I use it on a couple of different vehicles and it fits better than the others I bought, therefore it is more sure-footed to stand on.
