The Flipclip is Great for Readers
The FlipClip is a remarkable device, light-weight, perfect holding books open and leaving hands free. Easy to turn pages by raising one or the other of the front clips. It's particularly useful for someone like me, who consults multiple books at once. I initially bought 3 Flipclips and gave one to my husband. Then I bought another package for myself and also as gifts for other book lovers. It should also work with magazines to leave hands free for those working on the treadmill, elliptical machine, etc. Such a simple device, light enough to take on your travels. Highly recommended!

How did I ever manage w/out these?
I have a REALLY old piano (which I play every nite) & many very old piano books. This gadget came in real handy to keep my large, thick but falling apart piano books open to the right page! ( You would think they would realize that all music books should be made w/pages like a spiral notebook; so they stay open-but many don't !) So, finally- no more struggling to keep my books open while I play-yay! & as an added bonus, they don't 'chew up' the tops of the pages ( like the music clips I have been using for all these years). Readjusting them to slide the page under when you move onto the next 1 isnโt any more hassle then repositioning the music clips has been & totally worth it; since now these actually keep the book open properly (instead of just barely keeping a few pages under control)-big improvement! I also found a metal stand to keep the more dilapidated books from tumbling off my piano ledge( I just slid the base under the front of my piano) ! Highly recommend both products.

Quite good but not great
It's a little tricky to use, and the Amazon photos are conflicting. But it's a very cleaver device and much needed. Try keeping a new book open for reading (difficult) after using Kindel like devices! That said, for Function I only give it an 8 as the book still doesn't lay "flat"

Handy for the treadmill or elliptical reader
I was initially skeptical of this product, largely because the packaging makes it look like it was manufactured in and dug out of a time capsule from 1976, but itโs turned out to be just the thing for reading on the treadmill or elliptical. It fits a wide range of books, from bulky hardbacks to thinner paperbacks and keeps the book opened wide enough. Pretty neat little gadget, definitely worth the $18 or so price for anyone who needs to keep a book open without holding it the entire time.

Game changer for old hands that enjoy big books!
Where have you been all my life!? I read history, biography, and true crime, so many of the books I read are pretty big. The older I get the more that arthritis and carpal tunnel get to me, so holding a book can be a little painful. I've tried a lot of different things. The closest I've come is a book seat. Over the years the filling on that have lost their "puff" so I resorted to buying the same type of filler and bulking it up again, but time has done that in as well. The seat comes with a plastic bar with a chord through it so you can tighten it at the bottom of the book. Problem has always been with that is that with larger books, it's a challenge because when you're at the beginning and end of the book it's almost impossible for that system to work well. Plus over the years the cinch has lost its grip and the chord it's elasticity. So... I saw this FlipKlip and thought I'd give it a try. Game changer! Hold the book open from the top or bottom and it's very easy to flip pages. So far so awesom! I also ordered a Flippy to replace my played out Book Seat, because it's made of a sold foam piece instead of styrofoam beads. Hopefully, I'll be set for years to come.

It does exactly what itโs supposed to
It holds books open perfectly fine (hard and soft cover). the problem is when it comes to turning pages, you have to keep extra pages in front of the one arm (of the device) so you can turn next page easier, but then you have to put the page you just read behind the other arm to hold it in place and if you try to slip it under rather than opening the arm, it wrinkles and or rips the paper. It will also cover some of the words on the pages, specially for smaller books. Itโs a nice product, it just needs a few tweaks to the design.

If hold in place
The item does hold in place and it folds very easily. Also itโs easy to put it away and doesnโt take much space . Yes, I can read it without moving it. I like that it looks nice and simple. I Highly recommend this product.

Strong spring and grippy pads: holds any book open
Love these!! You can lift one of the arms all the way open and it stays put. So I have used them when I just wanted one side held down (like for fast reading). When you start to close them, though, they have some real power behind them and snap shut, enough that it could crease a page if you aren't paying attention. I haven't had that happen because I'm careful about it. That strength might sound like a downside, but it's the reason these work so well. They've held open every book I've tried, no matter the spine or thickness. The rubber stoppers help too, they grip the page instead of sliding off. I use these because I have arthritis and can't hold books open with my thumb anymore. These do the job and I'm so greatful.

super recomm
As a book lover that hates having to put down her book to do other stuff, this. is. great! Really holds! Not amazing when you have to pass the page but for big books it also takes away the strain from keeping it open! Doesn't damage the book either!

Brilliant Do the job
The holder is robust, and sturdy enough to clip onto a book. Easy to lift arms to move the pages. Great accessory if reading in bed. Makes it easier to hold. as the holder takes the weight of the book

Useful Idea, But Not Worth the Price
The FlipKlip works as advertised for holding a book open and can make reading more comfortable. However, I bought it mainly for reading while running on a treadmill, and I still found it difficult to flip pages, even at an easy pace. The product is functional, but I don't think it offers enough benefit to justify the price. It's a decent accessory, but I expected more for what it costs.

Very useful
This bookholder is just what I needed. It relieves pressure and strain from holding a book and allows me to read while eating lunch. It is easy to turn pages and holds the book open.
