Are any modifications to the router necessary? And if so, can you describe what is to be done? I don't want to void the warranty to my router.

Yes, you will have to do some modification to your router but I doubt it will affect the warranty. I can not answer to what has to be done without knowing what brand router you have --- my experience is with a 3.5HP Bosch ( sorry I don't remember the model #). has anyone used this on the Bosch 1619 plunge router?

I installed the RouterRazer on my Bosch 1619 router about a month ago along with one of their Xtream Xtensions. I now have this router in my table and it works better than I thought it would--- the XtremeXtension is the key to making this work really well, above table bit changing is really quick and easy.I found the RouteRazer very well designed, engineered and machined. As this kit is designed to be adaptable to several brands of routers the instructions can be a bit confusing and the kit I received was missing a critical component but I called Bob the owner, designer and help desk manager and he clarified all of my questions and sent me the missing part via next day mail (no charge). A word of caution; if you are machining a router plate for this kit do not use a printed out copy of the base template included in the instructions.
