I've tried a couple of pointed, conventionally designed patch jags on my rifles. They did the job, but not without issues with the jags tearing up the patches, binding, etc.I've been wanting to try the TCS O-ring design jag simply because it just made common sense about maintaining pressure on the bore in an effective but safe way. It did cost quite a bit more than the me to jags but if it did it's job well, then it would be well worth the price.The one I received works just as anticipated and I now clean the bore with confidence. The cost difference is well worth the peace of mind.Update: 6/11/21It was necessary to contact INTELCASE Co., the retailer supplying the Jag, about a small issue with the specific part I received. INTELCASE Co., supported by TCS Manufacturing & Amazon, responded promptly and decisively making all right within hours of my initial contact. That's customer service ... period!!

This does a great job far better than standard jags since the o-rings get past the lands in the barrel and gets to all hard to move carbon build up with all that said its a bit different to get the patch to stay in place since this jag doesn't have the little peg that pokes through the patches to keep it in place which I hope the designers add one to make this jag perfect

Was disappointed when I received package with only 1. The picture and what’s in the box description are disappointing. Picture shows 5 and what’s in box description states Jags andcleaning patches. Other than that the Jag works as described.

I have TCS jags for four different pistol calibers, ranging from .380 to .45. Really like them. When I bought a Vudoo V22 with a Shlen Rachet barrel I bought a TCS jag in 22 cal. The Ratchet barrel is a precision barrel with closer tolerances than a factory gun. The jag was tight and required more effort that a standard jag, but it cleaned the bore like what I had come to expect from a TCS jag. Because of the tight fit, I reserved the TCS for use with the final dry patch. After months of weekly cleanings, I looked closely at the jag. As shown in the attached image, the jag brass shows lands and grooves marks. That indicates to me that the jag diameter is not suitable for use with precision barrels. I have stopped using the jag and would not recommend it to others.

I have used this jag for other calibers for many years and cheaped out for my .556. I shouldn’t have. The patch in the picture is the what the TCS jag picked up after the pointed jag said the barrel was clean.The jag is good quality, perfect fit and works as advertised. It’s ridiculously more expensive but just buy the good jag.

I've only used the 30 cal. to this point and found that trying to push a slightly wet patch down a recently fired barrel is down right impossible. Yes, I managed to get it down the barrel, but I had to hit the end of the rod with a piece of wood to get it done.I suppose that's a good thing, to some degree. However, it didn't get any easier after my first pass of cleaning. It's just too tight to be practical.Now after I got the barrel clean and used gun oil to coat the barrel it was wonderful. That extra lubrication stopped the sticking and did a nice job of getting all the way to the bottom of the grooves.Would I recommend it? Yes, but only for use with move lubricated style cleaning solvents and oil. Not for just dry patches or non-slippery solvents.

These clean better than a standard jag without rings. I recommend.
