Chef Aid covers all bases and is bound to please.
Chef Aid is an intriguing hodgepodge of classic excerpts from the show that fans will happily relive, and of "actual" songs that will prevent it from fizzling out as quickly as sheer-novelty albums (Is anybody out there still doing the Bartman?). The Chef songs lay a solid (and hysterical) foundation for the novelty portion of the album and Mentally Dull, a frenetic explosion of short sound bytes, is the perfect sendoff, though its exclusion of "The German Daunce" is nothing short of a travesty. As for the rest, its wide variety ensures that there will be something in there you like, and inevitably, something in there you won't like as much. As a resident of dance-music-crazy Montreal, I for one found the inclusion of "Horny" a delightful surprise, and if they ever include it in a show it would be amazing. Even though I am primarily a dance music fan, I was open-minded enough to enjoy (or at least tolerate) most of the remaining songs. My main problems were the soppy, boring, hippyish Ween song and the supremely irritating, needlessly convoluted, endlessly babbling "Kevin and Mephisto" song that I can best describe as "Rock Me Amadeus" with 5 times the talk and absolutely no catchy hook or chorus. Primus, you gave the show an excellent theme song, but please, don't push your luck ever again. But hey, just because we're all South Park fans it doesn't mean we all have the same musical tastes, and if everybody ends up liking 80% of the album, whichever 80% that may be, it's probably the best that Matt & Trey & Company can hope for, and that's the bottom line.

I love this CD!
This CD rocks! I love it a lot. I think, however, if you are not familiar with the show, you would not enjoy it quite as much as myself, who is a die-hard fan...hmm...why WOULD you buy it if you weren't familiar with the show? hehehe Well, my only MINOR complaint, and it's just a point of personal preference, really, is I felt there was too much rap on the CD, but I'm sure someone else would not mind this so much. I really didn't MIND it as much as I was just suprised. Though I don't like rap, I found a lot of the rap songs on the CD rather amusing! So much on this CD was so amusing. I loved hearing Chef and Meatloaf singing together. I also loved hearing the humour of Trey and Matt. I'd love to hear more of them speaking personally.

Come sail away with me, you guys!
This CD documents a concert given in support of South Park's own Chef. Chef hosts the concert, and he also sings a few of his greatest hits. The concert features a wide variety of performers. There are rappers, punks, hard rockers and even Elton John! Not all of these performers will appeal to everyone, but all of them do turn in good performances. My favorites here are the performances by South Park residents. Chef, of course, is great, especially on "Chocolate Salty Balls". Eight year old Eric Cartman sings "Come Sail Away" with a maturity beyond his years. And Ned Gerblansky sings "Feel Like Makin' Love" with a lot of soul. I'm sorry I wasn't able to attend this concert in person, but at least I can enjoy this recording of it. And you will enjoy it, too!

Two or Three good songs
I thought that, this C.D. was good , and had some excellent songs (like the high-cholesterol salted balls and come sail away). I liked Mentally Dull, and songs like Kenny's dead, but the rest seemed to be completely irrelevant to the South Park show. I found the song featuring Ned and Jimbo okay for the first time but after a while Ned really gets on your nerves and your C.D. could come to some harm. Okay Mr Mackey okay. Generally I can say that the C.D. is good but the songs are bad...okay mR mackey...okay....songs are bad...the chefs bad...drugs are bad...mara-ju-ana's baaaad. Okeye?

The best music!
I don't know where to start so I'll just say that I LOVE THIS ALBUM TO DEATH! I've played it over a million times, and I know the lyrics for each song by heart (especially for my 3 fav songs "Chocolate salty balls", "Brad Logan", and "Come sail away"). All the music is cool, even "Kenny's dead", which is surprising, because I usually hate rap music, but this CD makes you think differently, and not only is the music entertaining, the lyrics make you laugh, because they are witty, and poke fun at alot of thing s in South Park!

Highlights were the songs from the cast members...
This extreme version is not for the little kiddies. But, of course, neither is the TV show. Those looking for similar laughs will find them infrequent, as a lot of the music doesn't really relate to the show. My main purpose of getting this CD was to get the full versions of Chef's best, and it's on there. Added bonus...Cartman's full-length version of Styx's "Come Sail Away" is hilarious. As for the rest? Others might like it, but not my cup o' tea. 3 stars.
