3.5 stars rounded up. The helmet looks to be well-built, had comfortable padding and the quick release chin strap is a nice touch. The built in sliding sunshade is also nice, it was properly positioned in front of my eyes when I tried it out (I suspect that the complaints of the shade being too high were the result of the user either not pulling it down all the way or they had the helmet tilted back on their head).The only problem is in the sizing arena. It seems the manufacturer uses the same size shell (the hard outer layer) and just put different thicknesses of padding inside to make it fit different sized heads. Unfortunately, I have a small sized ... and I can verify what some other reviewers referred to as "mushroom head" ... on a small head (helmet size S) it just looks really silly and feels really top-heavy. I'm sure it's still as safe as any other DOT certified half-helmet, but the excessive sized bucket not only looks goofy, but will catch air like you wouldn't believe ... the gap between shell and my skull was nearly 2 full inches all around the circumference (not open space, it was filled with padding) ... but tip your head back and it's kinda like an umbrella catching wind. If you have a fuller sized head, this helmet should not pose the same stylistic deficiency that I encountered.

I like the helmet, but looking through the visor is like looking through the bottom of a soda bottle. Wavy and zero optical quality of any kind. Also, the helmet moves around because it does not have a shape that holds it in place. The strap has no place to go other than to cut it. Returning this

Just expect protection related to price point. I'm a motorcyclist and would never wear unsafe head gear. I primarily purchased this helmet for riding battery powered fun gear, such as scooters and unicycling. I think it provides adequate protection for such low speed devices 35 mph and below. I couldn't imagine blasting down the highway on a motorcycle with this helmet, even with the DOT rating. Unless you enjoy less gear while riding but want to satisfy the law then it's ok. As far as the helmet, it met all my expectations for the purpose stated above and would only recommend purchase with scooters and the like.

I ended up returning this, but not due to quality of the product. It's a great, sturdy helmet and I LOVED the visors and how they worked. Getting my hands on it confirmed that it was what I was looking for in that regard. However, I needed it for scooter use. The description and other reviewed mentioned it was appropriate, but I would have looked ridiculous wearing it while riding a scooter. If you have a motorcycle, it's awesome. If a bike or scooter, it's way too big.

This is a really nice helmet over all. The adjusting band is super nice. The weight is a bit heavy, but is a motorcycle. Thr class is made out of tin steel. So I would be concerned with rust. The real issue that I had with this helmet is related with the fact that the company sent me a used product. On top of that, the line has a strong funky smell to it obviously left over from some hair product from the previous owner. I called the company, who informed me that they would ship out a new liner. That wad over a week ago. So I am going to have to send the helmet back.

Adjusting the strap has been a little problematic, but other than that this item is exactly as described.Update: Has been a few months and helmet has held up very well with daily use.

Giving it a five star because it arrived on time with no defects and it’s a small price to pay for adequate protection from brain damage. If you don’t like mushroom head don’t look in the mirror just get on your bike and ride!

Very comfortable. great styling I really like the dark blue interior padding. The drop down face shield could be a bit darker and it is quite flimsy and hard to clean but works perfect for what it is. It is the perfect helmet to leave with your bike to cruise around town in. Light weight DOT approved and with the shield in case you need a little won't and sun protection. However once you hot highway speeds the large front brim where the faceshield is combined with a lack of visor catches the wind and pushes the helmet off your head. Make sure the straps are tight or else it will blow off. Would be 5 stars if it worked on highway. First helmet I've had that did this but my other ones had a visor to direct the wind.

my visor was broken on arrival but I didn't notice in time to return. It is still in the box waiting for the warmer weather and I can still use it however the visor was broken where it attaches to the helmet on one side. I will need to be exceptionally careful not to break the other side. I doubt the visor will last a single season. If you buy it just for the remainder of the helmet then its ok (just don't expect to use that visor for anything - its much smaller than it looks and does not come out very far either - sits above the eyes and no, the helmet is not sitting too far back).

bought it for my wife to use in our side x side but did not fit good and hard to fasten under the chin. helmet seemed longer than rounded and i guess for some people it may fit ok but certainly not her. i tried it for myself and also did not fit properly at all. returned for refund with no problem. thanks

Looks niceArrived in good shapeOrdered an XL and it's labeled XL but it's practically impossible to get on and I wear an XL regularly.Also the pop down visor is nice, but compared to a helmet with a similar feature at a local brick and mortar store, the one on this helmet is pretty flimsy.

after seeing some good reviews and bad reviews on this helmet i decided to take the chance to be greatly disappointed, i already had a beanie style helmet. this one sits to tall on your head. the drop down sunglass part does not come down for enough and bumped the prescription glasses i already wear. and final, the liner is twice as thick as the helmet i already have so does not fit well at all. And will be returning it.

All you need to ride a Yamaha scooter in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I am not exceeding 60 km/h. It feel much safer wearing this helmet.
