Carpoint CPT0623403 Tyre Pressure Gauge, 0.5/ 3.5 bar

tyre guage
Whilst OK for a car or motorbike unfortunately it cannot cope with the extra tyre pressure of a larger vehicle such as a motorhome, take this into account when purchasing this product. Fortunately the seller was very understanding and gave me a rebate.

Works a treat
I have been using mine for years. Checked it against known reliable gauges and it's accurate enough. I keep it in the car. Handy that it will hold the needle in the position of the reading until you release it.

Blew apart after 4 or 5 times of use,
I bought an electric tyre pump at the same time so as to make sure got correct pressure and the both come up with the same reading so are either both correct or both wrong, I believe they are both right. Quick and easy to use and a good idea to have in the car. II have now used this 4 or 5 times and the last time I used it last week will be the last time I use it as it blew apart as I checked my second tyre prior to a long journey.

It does what it says. What more can you want.
small enought to keep in the glove box or door pocket. A really handy tool to keep a check on the tyre pressures.

Hopelessly inaccurate
My car has onboard tire pressure monitoring, but uses the wheel size and information from the ABS to detect low pressure. In theory, OK, except it is not actually reading the pressure, but the diameter of the wheel/tire. When I carry passengers, the tire squashes a little and triggers the warning. True, you should increase tire pressure for a full load, but who does that when it is occassional or unexpected use? I do if I know I will be carrying a lot. Now to get to why I bought this device. I was driving along, and the warning triggered for the reason stated. As I did not know why it triggered at that time, I pulled over and looked at the tires which seemed fine. I had no pressure gauge at the time in the car. So I drove the short distance home gingerly and got my compressor out. Tires were fine, so it was just due to load, so I decided to buy a cheap in car compressor and pressure gauge. This pressure guage is a mistake. I know my compressor gauge is accurate to a couple of psi at worst, but this over reads by 6 - 10 psi. Useless!!Spend more and get something worth using.
