Skullcandy Gaming SLYR Xbox One - Halo

Here's another honest review:Bought this product as used, i think that single 2 star person return it, who knows BUT... (HAPPY to let you know I'm LOVING this headset, got it for $50.. thank you! as you can tell I'm a bargain buyer haha) Anyways unlike previous headset of the xbox360 version of these, I can see many great new improvements has happen to this headset.First things first, to be ABLE to USE these headsets- you need to do a update for them. Simply follow the instructions on your Xbox screen and MUST have internet (duh!) to update, very easy and simple.Pros:-Surround sound-Can whisper and fellow players can still hear me-adjustable mic, move closer to my mouth or away.. your choice-adjustable headset, can make it a bit smaller or bigger. BUT not for BIG heads or SMALL heads... sucks i know, you would of known if you had own the previous headset for 360-OMG the cord connecting to the controller is short THANK YOU skullcandy for this improvement!!!... the 360 version gave me a headache with all the cables.. very long cables i might add-Sound quality is great for myself, but it DIFFERS from PERSON to PERSON (keep that in mind)-NO talk back feature, great for me!-VERY comfortable, can wear for hours of gaming-It's NOT turtlebeach, and can't believe it's NOT butter! (ha i kid myself)Cons:I do admit that the buttons to make either the chat louder or the game louder is a struggle, but after owning one of these before. I figure it out quickly. Mine didn't come with instructions since I got a USED headset-easy to figure it out.Edit 3-31-15:After owning these for a couple of months. Theses are still the best mic I own. But I notice it does drain more of my battery life on my controller. Which is not a issue for myself since I have rechargeable batteries. My battery life without use of headset is 24 hrs and with headset it's 8-10hrs.

Great headset, the sound is good for a "budget" headset. (I also own Astro A50s, Astro is owned by Skullcandy actually). Very similar to simulating the surround, footsteps are audible and clear in games like COD and Rainbow 6 Siege.They are very comfortable, but the mic does not pick up as well as I would like.These were purchased for my significant other since we play on X1 together.The only downside to this headset has been that they do not work 100% with the new X1 controllers that have the 3.5mm headphone jack. On either X1 (with latest controller firmware), when you shut off the Xbox with the headset attached, it makes a really loud, deafening static noise until the console completes its shut off. This does not happen with older controllers which thankfully I have a few. I don't know if this is a headset defect or what but my gosh is it painful to hear.

So the headset was a decent one, but based on how customer service from the company Skull Candy - I wouldn't ever buy this. The wire from the controller to the headset has a short. But the replacement isn't even listed on the website. And when trying to order a new one - they say they are sending out "replacement parts" and send me some random cord....Don't buy unless you want zero product support on a product that costs $100 dollars. You will be throwing it away in under 6 months.

I have been accustomed to skullcandy headphones providing great value and quality so I did not hesitate to buy this headset for my Xbox one. This being a Halo themed headset I had to buy it as I have been a day one halo fan. The design itself is stylish enough to look great even on its stand on my desk, and even better when I have them on my head.This headset is very comfortable on the head through many hours of gameplay even with my glasses on. The controls are connected to the controller and are very easy to use. You are able easily mute and unmute the mic with a simple press of a button as you play.The sound quality is what is expected and nothing spectacular, but at this price point I am more than pleased with the quality of sound. No complaints from anyone I play with in regards to the mic so I believe they pick up my voice easily. The retractable mic is a huge plus as well.Overall, this headset provides great value, good sound quality, excellent fitting, and looks great as well. I recommend these to anyone who want a headset

This isn't a bad headset by any means. It is very comfortable not only on top of my head but the ear cups are very soft. The ear cups are on the small side though. I don't have a big head or big ears and to fit, my ears would have to fold almost in half to fit inside the cups. It wasn't uncomfortable until I wore them for a couple of hours.I purchased this headset knowing there wasn't mic monitoring and figured I would speak just a little louder than I normally do. I was wrong... my first headset I contacted skullcandy customer service because I was having to yell. No seriously I was actually yelling for the mic to acknowledge I was speaking and the people on the other end still said I was quiet. I returned the first headset for a second one because I actually liked them and just thought I had a bad mic. Turns out the second one came and it wasn't much better. I wasn't exactly yelling but having to raise my voice to the level that the mic picked up wasn't going to work for me. I have small kids and I get to play when they are asleep so yelling or talking really loud wasn't an option.I did like the fact that the headset plugged into the controller and ran off of the controller batteries. I have rechargeable batteries for my controller so it made this an easy option. The gmx-1 mixer was ok. The cord came out at a weird angle but wasn't too bad. There are no instructions on how to use the mixer either but it's not hard to figure out.

Con la equalización apropiada estos audífonos son una gran opción, los he tenido desde hace casi 3 años, con uso diario entre 6 y 8 horas solo hasta ahora han empezado a desgastarse las almohadillas pero siguen oyéndose como el primer día.

I received a defective item, the Microphone does not work. My son is so disappointed because I bought these for his birthday and they are essentially useless because he can't chat with his friends on xbox live with a broken microphone😪I'm hoping the seller will make this right and if so, I will gladly change my rating.

Son muy buenos audifonos, el sonido es claro en los videojuegos y al cubrir toda la oreja pareciera que tiene Noise Cancelling. Sin embargo de vez en cuando se le va el sonido, lo que puede llegar a resultar incomodo.

Very good sound when listening to music or gaming but very poorly made and concept for the wire. The wire wont go back to the jack if it happen that you want to untwisted it. The adapter is easy to put but very hard to get off so better let it on the controller. If you really need to put it off you'll need pull the wire and pull hard. Who thought of this? Pulling the wire? It is the last thing anybody with senses will do but that headset was made to be stuck with that way. Sorry cant provide photo because it broke in 1 week because of that. 4/10 not worth the price, would not buy again.
