Nintendo Wii Mini Power Cooling System

This is a fine product. We have trouble with our Wii having thermo shut-downs. Since installing this we havn't expierenced it...yet. But remember, this is powered by the USB ports (both of them) on the back. It snaps in easy and has an off-on switch (I don't know why, because if its on you want cooling right?), but remember, it is using the POWER FROM THE WII. So the little power supply inside actually has to work harder to provide power and thus HEAT. As long as the total cooling outweighs the heat required to power it, it will be fine, but if you plug something into the outgoing USB that this unit provides, you are taxing it even further.******UPDATE*******After about 8-9 months, shut downs started again. You get what you pay for.

This product is NOISY! When I mean noisy, I mean louder than my old Wii's disk drive. And since the purpose of the product is to prevent overheat when the Wii is in standby, you have to deal with the noise all of the time. Maybe it's just because the fan is spinning so fast, as it definitely removes a lot of heat. If you are worried about your Wii overheating, I'd suggest turning off WiiConnect24 on standby in your Wii's settings menu. If your Wii's internal fan is broken, just buy a replacement instead of this as this is just too loud to use.

While this does work to keep the Wii cool if the inside fan goes out it has a couple draw backs. For starters it is ALWAYS on! Unless you physically turn it off by its own switch it'll stay on when the Wii is off. Also it's not the quietest thing and that can get annoying. For about the same price you can order a replacement fan and put it in.

SO far so good, my internal wii fan broke and i replaced it with this, when my wii shutdown after about and hour or 2 from too much heat, and it was very hot to the touch, (duh), after installing this and 5 hours of gameplay from my kids, my wii is nice and cool to the touch so i would say it definitely works very well, very quiet cannot hear it at all, a great by and easy and cheap compared to buying the internal for for $15, a tri tip screwdriver for $2-$10, and all the work of possibly breaking your wii

Our Wii was shutting off on us after playing on it for an hour. At first, we thought maybe we needed a new one and that it was just getting old. After a while it was bothering our Super Smash Bros. Brawl parties, so we thought we'd try to get this. It totally works and saved our Wii from overheating! Now we can play for hours and the Wii doesn't shut down.

Our Wii had been overheating because our fan stopped working. Got this about two months ago and have not had a single problem since. We just leave the thing on all the time and it's great. Because it's so inexpensive, I had my doubts but this was a GREAT purchase. (We watch our tv via Netflix on the Wii, so we use our system a lot/not just for gaming.)
