Good for the bedroom, comprehensive remote control.
I chose the Woodlands over the other similar Azatom products because it was easy to set the sleep timer using the remote.Using the radio without the remote is a little fiddly but no different to the majority of other DAB radios. The lack of dedicated preset recall buttons is disappointing but the comprehensive remote makes up for it. I miss a rotary control but the remote makes operating the radio OK.Both the remote and on-radio buttons are a little hard to press but are positive. The sound quality is very good for the size of the device. The equalizer settings make a difference and are worth exploring. I have found no distortion at high volume on the DAB or FM radio, not tried the other 3 input options.I have found the charge LED on the back of the radio is very bright a night in the bedroom but a small piece of thin plastic sandwiched between the micro USB charge plug and the socket as blocked the vast majority. Having a built-in rechargeable battery is a great plus. The display is quite bright even at its minimum setting but not a deal breaker.Overall a nice versatile portable clock radio.

excellent quality
great bit of kit, replaced my old alarm/radio as i wanted a dab radio, this unit delivers very well, nice quality sound and crystal clear, plenty of pre sets to store, display has time, date month etc, sleep function and snooze, all via the unit or the remote control, can connect phone on Bluetooth for audio streaming and call answering, also has usb and micro sd slot for audio playing too, rechargeable battery and mains operating, so handy to take outside while i clean the car or do the garden. only thing i would like it to add is to have audio out facility so i could add an external speaker but only a small issue, as the sound is very very good for a small unit.

Still a lovely radio
Great radio. Sound quality is superb and surprising sharp and clear. Bass is good too. Bluetooth and everything connected effortlessly. Great piece of art!I have used the radio for a while now have have noted two concerns:1. I set the alarm to radio throughout weekdays, but I've noticed about three times now the alarm fails to come on even with radio on standby.2. I would have preferred if I can flip through the fm saved channels with a single tap of a button, instead of the otherwise cumbersome process of selecting presets before skipping through saved channels.

Impressive little package!
I looked everywhere for an alarm clock that would stay on at night and be charged by usb. This unit does that and has dab/fm radio with Bluetooth and remote control, for the money it's extremely good value. The bonus is a built in subwoofer which gives it a bit more beef than the competition when you want it loud!Extremely pleased I use it in my camper as a clock radio or to stream music/audible from my phone and it's great because I can take it outside and use battery power when I need too!

Good looking but some issues
Had a bit of hassle with this. The first one had a foot missing. The replacement would only run for about 2 hours before needing recharging. I returned that one directly to Azatom (who were very helpful) and third time seems to be lucky so far. It's a good looking radio with decent sound quality and a good range of features. To get decent battery life you really need to switch it off rather than leaving it on stand-by. The controls are a bit confusing with the remote having somewhat different buttons to the set itself and the manual is poor, so a bit of trial and error is needed to work out how to do things. I really wanted it as a radio and so haven't tried to set up alarms, use bluetooth etc. yet.

Not the best
I tend not to write a review too soon after getting a product, to make sure I have had a time to try it out. having done so, i have to say, this is probably the worst DAB radio I have ever bought. It was bought for me by my partner, and the only reason it is on my account is because I have a Premium Account. As for the radio, the sound is tinny, programming it is a joke, the remote is next to useless, and the overall housing is of cheap plastic. The remote looks like it was designed in the 1960's, and is about as user-friendly. The only two good things I can say is the reception is excellent, and the battery holds it's charge very well. Otherwise, this radio is a total disappointment.

Not what was expected from the description
The main disappointment with this product is that the battery life was less than 1 hour. It was constantly in need of charging up again - so, if you are happy to use it permanently on main supply it would be ok. The controls on the set were difficult to use and to see. Sound quality was average. We sent it back and bought a smaller Sony portable which is infinitely better.

A good radio
I go this radio to replace a Pure one where the rubberised case had gone sticky. Although at different price points the Azatom is just as good as the Pure. (It isn't an Internet radio, to be fair - although I never actually used that function.)Once I had familiarised myself with the controls (a common stage with multi-function devices like this) it was easy to operate. Sound quality is great - probably not 'hi-fi' as such but that would be unrealistic expectation for a small radio, but it is very good.I suppose two minor criticism could be that the display is a little smaller than on the similar (earlier model) Blackfriars, and a knob to adjust volume might be nice. These are small things though, and it all works fine in practice. Can't comment on reliability yet, as I've only had it for a couple of days, but it seems pretty solid.
