XtremeAmazing Aluminum Automotive Water Hose Fitting Replacement for BMW 335i 335xi 135i 325i 330i

You would think BMW should have switched from plastic to Aluminum by now!!. Great solutions for anyone with BMW that has this type of coolant hose connector. If you haven't change it and your car is old, it is just matter of time before it fails. Plastic becomes brittle over time because of the coolant temperature changes. Change it sooner than later. You may need to swap coolant hose from the plastic connector but it's very easy job.

the fitting itself worked but the oring was too fat and the clamp was too cheap to trust... otherwise installing it wasnt a ton of fun but it will go in without pulling the electric fans if you disconnect the upper hose.

The product was made of good quality but the o ring was too big to fit inside the block. It would leak even when the bolts were tight because the bottom wouldn't go in. Ended up making a smaller gasket that wasn't as big inDiameter. Then it worked. My neighbor had an oring kit where you could make your own oring and then super glue it .

It works , but doesn't fit well, I think the rubber ring too thick .

I had seen articles and. VIdeos about the infamous OEM plastic coolant return hose fitting cracking and leaking at the worse moment. I had been constantly losing coolant but could not pin point the exact location. After seeing a video on this replacement of this part, I checked my car and discovered that my leak was at the same location.I tried the recommended procedure of removing the radiator and fan shroud but ran into difficulties. I ended up cracking off the brittle plastic radiator mounts and still couldn’t get the radiator out.I ended up working with what little room I had and was able to remove the old part which ended up falling apart as I removed it. The new aluminum part fit perfectly. I used a higher quality hose clamp instead of the one that shipped with the part.Do not over tighten the bolts as this part is aluminum and can be damaged easily. The leak stopped. Best $20. Part for cheap insurance. Definitely doable for the DIY person with average abilities. Caution: when removing the old fitting, be careful not to leave the old cracked housing part in the block. You should be able to remove it with a dental pic or your finger. I’ve included pics of the broken old pieces. You will be reusing your hose, so do not cut it to remove any parts. Inspect the hose for cracking. BMW sells the coolant return hose with the plastic hose fitting together so beware.

My original flange deteriorated so I ordered this one as a replacement. It’s been doing good for about a month now
