The LEGO Movie Videogame - Wii U

A good game, fun for the kids and humorous for the adults. Its a Lego game, so if you have played one before you know what to expect here. No violence or anything like that so again, fine for kids. It is also a game with a reasonable length and the difficulty is not hard so it can be for everyone. I was looking for a video game that was not too difficult and fun to play for the Wii U and this fits the bill just fine. Some of the Nintendo games are just too difficult for me as I find that Nintendo puts a lot of intentional difficulty or "rubberband AI" into their games making them a lot harder than they should be for games that have a cartoony and fun look to them which is a disappointment but fortunately I have found other games to make up for these shortcomings.The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because of controller support. The game forces you to use the gamepad when you start it up. The only way to use another controller combination is to drop out the gamepad and play with the other controller as a single player. If you play 2 player then one player has to use the gamepad and the other player has to use another controller setup of your choice. This has the icons for all the controllers on the back of the package so I expected full controller support. I don't like holding the gamepad for extended periods of time because its so large and unwieldly and causes me hand pain after only 15-20 min of use where I can hold a pro controller or a classic controller plus wii remote just fine. Unless I am missing something here about how to play with other controllers right from the start. The gamepad is also very, very expensive to replace, and costs almost as much as the system itself to replace, thus some people might prefer to play with another controller in order to preserve the gamepad. Especially for a kids game and when kids are playing since they tend to be a bit more rough than adults with the controller. Yes you can play with another controller as single player, but it requires some hoops to get through, and with 2 player, one player will have to use the gamepad.

I was a little worried when I ordered this game, as the lego franchise (I have played them ALL numerous times!) was starting to get a little stale. I have not seen the LEGO movie, and the last time I played with actual legos was well before they had kits where you build specific items - like a tie fighter or a death star (Yes, I am that old!) That being said, the LEGO movie game has some fun new tweaks. First the colors are spectacular - almost breathtaking. Second, lots of new characters. Third and maybe the most fun, as Emmett, you have to find blueprints and build stuff - and to do that they show you a lego piece and you have to pick it off the list - the quicker you can do that the more studs you get. If you have every built a lego kit, this will probably be easy for you (or your five year old), but for me it was a bit of a challenge at first. I have only done 3 or 4 levels, but I am enjoying the game. I may even go see the LEGO Movie! It is getting great reviews!

We just got a Wii U this past Christmas, and this was one of the first games we purchased. Our son loves that he gets to "go into the world" of one of his favorite movies. It is cool to explore the different areas of the movie, and help in the mission to defeat Lord Business. The only complaint we have is that the movie seems to have a lot of glitches and/or freezes a lot. This game is really fun, and we completed it pretty quickly, but you can free play after you have completed all of the levels, which is really all that our son wants to do anyway, so it is perfect for him. I am not as into the free play mode, so I usually don't play it anymore now that we finished. I guess I will just have to get a new Lego video game to continue the fun!

We love the LEGO video games here, and The LEGO Movie game was one we couldn't wait to add to our collection! For the most part, we have enjoyed playing it. There are SO many characters to choose from and we love that it's 2-player so we can work together to beat the game. The graphics are great and the storyline follows right along with the movie, which we watched prior to buying the game.There are a couple of things that prevent us from finishing the game 100% though. There's a glitch in one world that prevents us from collecting the pants in that level. It's the dancing one -- it mixes up the Wii U Gamepad and Wiimote for the players and we are unable to complete it. Also, the Flatbush Gulch level where you must stay on the tracks to get the golden manual is pretty much impossible for us!

This was a gift that I had purchased for my daughter and son who happen to be big fans of the Lego Movie. The game is easy to play and provides instructions early on to help get an understanding of how to work the characters. My children have gotten hours of fun out of this purchase. You work your way through multiple levels that follow the actual story line of the movie. It’s great how you collect characters throughout the game to help aid in the progression towards the end of the game. My children ages 8 and 10 were able to complete this game without any assistance from me. After the story line of the game is finished there are several other objectives that need to be completed. This was the first Lego Game purchase I have made and I will definitely be looking into purchasing other Lego video games.

From my eight year old daughter (transcribed directly):"This game is great. How they built it and edited it is so cool. I think they did a great job with it, and it's very fun. I like how only the girls jump high. You get to be different characters from the movie and you solve puzzles as them, find things, and break things to earn coins (usually) so you can buy stuff. There's a cool feature that says you have to find pants to change into in each episode. I would like to play it for hours and hours but then my mind would be like mush with electronics, so I am only allowed to play it for half an hour or an hour at a time."She likes it, which makes her happy, and that makes me happy. Highly recommended.

This is the BEST LEGO Wii game, and trust me.... we have a LOT of them. Easy for kids under 12 to play, but fun for adults as well.Honey.... where are my paaaaaants???

Compré el producto para un regalo, por eso a penas estoy escribiendo la reseña. Del producto ofertado LEGO MOVIE VIDEO GAME WII U STANDAR EDITION solo recibí la caja, pues el contenido era un disco para Wii usado (Wii Sports Resort), con huellas dactilares en todo el disco, por lo tanto no sirve para mi consola Wii U, al no ser para la consola adecuada. Mi recomendación es que revisen sus productos inmediatamente cuando los reciban, yo me confié y este es el resultado.
