Victoria M. Bamboo Roller Blind 100 x 220 cm in Natural Colour - Privacy Window Blinds

I wanted one of those cheapish ikea bamboo blinds that you can see through but provide good privacy, in the daylight anyway. Ikea queues are too long for me post lockdown, so I sent for this. I chose the natural light bamboo. It has a flatter bamboo than ikea and it isn't as see-through, but that was fine. The packaging and blind is of good quality. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it doesn't arrive rolled up, sort of folded and the cord is around it. There are white plastic triangle things that, given the quality of the packaging, I thought was a method of keeping it all together, so I untied them to get to the blind. What I didn't realise until the end was that these bits of plastic are part of the mechanism that winds the blind up and down. It isn't obvious because the other bits of the mechanism is metal. It took me ages to tie it all up back together, infact a YouTube demo on how the stringing works. The instructions obviously didn't cover that but some unpacking instructions might have prevented it. Overall, I am very pleased with the blind.

Nice blinds. A reasonable price for some off the shelf blinds to fit in our open living space. Would be fab if you could take the strings to the opposite side, but when rolled up I just coil the string and lift it up and over to be out of the way. You could take the strings and rollers apart and swap them over and it would sort of work but I didn't think it was worth the effort.To my personal taste the white string clashes with the nice natural bamboo of the blind. And the little metal cleats that are included to tie the string up, are pretty naff and ugly.My plan in the future is to possibly make a little wooden pelmet to cover the hooks that hang up the blinds and the mechanism and if I really feel motivated, replace the string with a more natural looking line.But all works well and looks good. And as others say they don't block light or make things dark.Had an issue with our order but manufacturers sorted it out very quickly and efficiently.

Impressed; better quality build than previous items ( not from same supplier)N.B. this curtain does not allow you to seethrough whilst providing shade - previous curtains we have owned have had small spaces between the horizontal slats, this one does not. Its not an issue for us but might be to some folk used to the open-slatted curtains.

I was a bit apprehensive about ordering this item but needn’t have been. It came much sooner that stated, the quality is good for the price. It’s a doddle to put up. I did it myself (lady, over 60) I didn’t use the hangers provided but used stick on hooks (also bought from Amazon) as there was no room to screw into frame and also didn’t want to damage upvc frames. It took about 10 minutes. Pulley mechanism works fine and it looks good. So impressed that I have now ordered another for my conservatory door.Would def. recommend

These blinds are accurately cut, assembled and carefully packed.I bought two blinds of the same dimensions - and they were within a millimetre of each other in length and width.The blind control fittings are of standard, simple design but neatly assembled and fixed - they work well.I hung each blind from stick-on hooks, so did not use the supplied fixings - they look just about adequate to resisting the forces applied to them when raising the blinds.Very happy with the final look and feel to the blinds when hung and in use.

Arrived quickly and securely packaged. Colour and finish accurately portrayed on line. Quality very good, but butterfly cord tie is flimsy/adequate. Pulley mechanism not too robust but works very well and has a ratchet which allows the blind to stay in any position, without securing the cord to the butterfly tie. Width can be cut to size, if you have the confidence to do a neat cut. The blind allows daylight to filter through, but sufficiently reduces glare from direct sunlight. Good value product, simple to fit to my summer house.

Just before Christmas 2018 I bought this blind to replace one where the bamboo and ancillary bindings were getting a bit broken. Therefore in just over a year I have had to replace the raising and lowering cord with the cord that had been used on the previous one. This cord is still intact and serviceable even after this blind was obtained secondhand and fitted sometime in the late 80's! The new cord in this item has a sheath which has frayed and separated around the central core fibers! Very dissappointed to have suffered this failure!John

EDITED: One star less due to bad quality blind cords. The cords were completely worn out and broken in several places for all three blinds within a year of usage, despite storing them inside during bad weather and not using them more than 3 months. The size and weight of these blinds require far stronger cords. The ones shipped are decorative but inefficient. I am also unimpressed with their after-sales support. They claimed the damage was due to outdoor use (trust me, it is not), that there are no replacement cords and that the cords cannot be replaced. They can be indeed easily replaced and I got myself much better cords for £10 on Ebay. Not wanting to replace them is disappointing, but making false claims in unnecessary. They should supply better cords by default. Still a good buy I think.We used these for our balcony and we are very happy with the result.The blinds are beautiful and well built. They block the direct sun very efficiently, but allow some sunlight to pass through (not enough to bother you) so they create a beautiful light inside the room.We hanged them so that we could store them inside when it's windy or rainy. They are good quality, but they are made of wood, so the bad weather can probably wear them out quickly.
