BLACKHAWK 3

Overall a REALLY good product. Pro's: -airflow channels WORK -hydration capatible up to 100oz -comes with it's own lashing straps -holds a TON of stuff -compression straps help keep things tidy -tough as nails (1000D cordura) -no molle so you don't look like you're going into combat Con's: -ladder locks on the shoulder straps seem to slip a little. maybe a couple of cam buckles would do the trick. Things to note: -this thing is way bigger than it looks. it isn't exactly a ruck but it ain't a day pack either, you know? -hydration sleeve works BEST with a BLACKHAWK bladder. others will work...but they don't fit as well. blackhawk bladders are available pretty cheap at cheaperthandirt. -there aren't a lot of little pockets so if you're looking for a place to put your crayons, your lip balm, your pokemon cards, your make-up and your concealed carry piece this isn't your bag. i like getting the cheap-o dry bags from wally world and separating out my important stuff into those and putting them in the bag.

So glad I found this. I bought the older version at Ranger Joe's in the early 00s. If you were a young officer at Benning back in the day, this was the must have accessory to GWOT with. Sadly mine got melted by a Bradley exhaust in Iraq. I didn't think Blackhawk still made this! Even the melted one held up better than a similar bag I bought from a different company. This bag is the real deal!

Purchased this for my friend because I've had the same one in OD Green for over 20 years. This has been through a year long deployment in Sadr City when I was first issued it. I've done numerous hiking trips in the mountains of NH and would trust many more outdoor excursions with it. I would say that it is extremely durable and reliable and very comfortable. You would just have to get one for yourself to make your own judgment.

There is no other like the 3day Assault by Blackhawk. When your goal is to get the mission done this is the bag, very strong and robust. It looks normal but when you touch it then you know it means serious business.

Bought this in black, for backpacking etc - Got it shipped and delivered in 2 days! Extremely satisfied.I've not started my backpacking yet, but about to move to China, and take it from there.. I have used it EVERY day for almost three months though! To and from work, workouts and smaller trips. Of course it's gone through (a lot of) rain, and I still have to see something penetrate. It took me a while to fathom that this thing is like a black hole - EVERYTHING goes into it! Even when you think it's full, and after two days you gotta' put something extra in it, you realize it's no problem - There's ROOM. It's stunning, and all the straps are really great to have. I'm a guy at 1,69m - and I was a bit worried reading reviews saying it might be a problem height-wise - but I'm here to tell you that's BS to my relief. Play around with the straps! Hell, play around with the pack. If I would end up not having space for something, if something would be too big, I got carabiners to hook it on. I still haven't used the spare straps, nor have I even taken them out - but someday, I will. As for backpacking goes, I'd say this is an excellent choice. It's even anonymous going in black, if it still looks too cool - just put a poncho over it. The padded backpanel is really nice too. In four words; I love this pack. Con: The waist-belt has these things to hold together the strap with the belt (one on each side), I didn't realize this before one of them went missing as they wasn't being held together in any way other than being 'slipped on'. It's just a minor thing, but it might be better to have some sort of -- I dont know - attachable feature between these two, hell, a string would do. Also, as I live in Norway, I wish I ordered it through .eu instead of .com as the shipping ended up costing as much as the bag..... haha. I still think it's worth it!

In the late 90s I had an Eagle III Assault Pack The design was the same as the Blackhawk 3 Day Assault Pack all of my friends had the Blackhawk so we compared it was the same bag. I gave my Eagle bag away after 2 deployments plus more than 10 years of everyday abuse and use. I found this Blackhawk bag and I was super excited I ordered it. This Blackhawk 3 Day Assault bag arrived yesterday - I discovered that the webbing is thin, quite thin, the YKK zippers are not branded, The body of the bag is solid internally and externally. I further discovered that the Eagle Industries as well as Blackhawk were sold to ATK, this explained a lot. Like many things these days a big company buys up a good selling quality product and changes are made. Initially I was extremely disappointed, these bags are solid I bought them out of nostalgia and tested them by loading them with rocks the webbing is thinner but solid. I updated this post and changed my rating from 1 star to 4.

I love this model of rucksack and this is my second one. Easy to hike it, great price for the Blackhawk quality and it stores everything I need for a quick deployment.

I bought this recently as a replacement. I was given this exact bag as a gift in 2013. After 7 years of HARD use, the nylon and clips on the chest straps finally wore down. I expect that it would have easily lasted even longer had I not used it as a poor man's weighted vest, as well as for other relatively extreme use cases and shenanagains. I loved my first one and the new one feels like the exact same great quality!

One of my all time favourite bags, simple and robust

Very well built and roomy bag. Could not ask for more. It is a bit vanilla, as it has no interior organization other than the 3 pockets and hydration slot, so you will need to use some sort of packing cubes to organize your gear (unlike some of the other 3-day packs). Other than that, got this on sale, very happy with it.

I have been using this bag for 1 year and still love it. It is the perfect size for me to get a good load of groceries and bike or walk home with them. I have carried 50+ lbs in it without it failing and without discomfort. The material is incredibly strong and durable. It is very "grey man" and looks great.

Best backpack ever. No back pack has won my heart except blackhawk 3. This will actually be my brand image for my entire life for sure.
