Intex Above Ground Energy Efficient LED Magnetic Pool Light (2 Pack) | 28687E

One of the two lights stopped working after less than one week. It was purchased through a third party seller who refused to replace or refund my money. They insisted that I go through the manufacturer.The light comes with three parts. The light that goes inside the pool, the back part that goes outside the pool, and the transformer/plug. When I called Intex, I described what was happening (when I plugged the light in, it would flash briefly, and nothing else). I told them I suspected that it was the transformer part, since the fact that it flashed at all indicated that the LED works. So of course they sent me the LED part. Guess what? Didn’t work. I called again. Explained again why I thought it was the transformer. They send me the back piece. Guess what? Still didn’t work. They finally sent me the transformer. Guess what? It worked! If they would have listened to me, they wouldn’t have wasted two months of my summer without a light in my pool.The silver lining is that I now have 2 out of 3 extra parts that do work because they replaced the parts that weren’t broken first.Aside from the headache of fixing the light that broke, they do work well. My pool is 12 x 24 and one light lights up the whole pool plenty. Two is super bright. The cords are long enough to run to either end from about midway on the side with plenty of slack.

We were a little skeptical of how well they would light up the pool given some other reviews and pictures we have seen. We were pleased to see that they worked well on our 18 foot easyset pool. We haven't had them very long so we cannot speak to how well they will last long-term, but so far, they are working well. It didn't show up very well in the picture, but because the sides of the pool are vinyl, the two lights sort of makey the whole pool glow. In the picture, the lights are positioned about 2 feet below the water's surface and about 1/3 the circumference of the pool away from each other. We thought maybe a third light would be required, but the two actually work quite well for us. As an added bonus, they use very little electricity. I tried to measure it with my clamp-meter but consumption was so small I did not get a good reading on it.

The 2 pack adds a really nice touch to your larger Intex swimming pool. Its also a pretty good deal compared to buying them separately. I looked at the images that folks posted for the single light and felt that I wanted a little more light than that. (personally I think for a 18 or 20 foot pool 3 lights would be best.)Overall I'm pleased with the devices. The magnets hold the two pieces together nicely and the 22 foot power cord easily allows you to space them on either side of the pool. The units are relatively bright and if I were to guess I'd say its probably about 5 watts of LED power being given off by the lights.I took 2 stars off because the LEDs are a very high color temperature (about 5000k) and I would prefer a "warmer" color to it and secondly if you look at the stock photo the lights look very bright but if you compare that to my 2 photos the lights are NOWHERE near that bright. (I'm actually considering buying another 2 pack)I am going to play around with the position of the light. I think they look better towards the bottom but they are brighter the higher you place them. In my pictures they are right above the vinyl belt of the pool. I did this because I was worried that if the kids detached the light from the inside I did not want the outside part falling almost 4 feet to the cement patio.__________________________________________________________________________I ended up with the lights close to the top. They are brightest in that position. However they still are not as bright as the Intex stock picture. I used a couple of zip ties to secure the wire to one of the pools upright poles. That way if the kids detach the lights from inside the pool the outside part won't fall to the concrete patio.

Got the 2 pack since I have the Intex 24x12x52. The higher the unit sits the brighter it is. I first set it about 2ft above the ground and didn't look too bright as I was worried that my kids would knock them off and there went the transmitter. Now have it sitting just above waist level and these things are pretty bright having both of them 6ft apart on the side of the pool. The power cables are about 20ft long and can be disconnected from the unit so you won't have to worry about constantly removing them when not in use. Just leave the unit hanging. Would highly recommend these and not those other above ground pool light.

I bought two of these as a set and I loved them.For the first 4 days.The fifth night I plugged them in, one was as bright as ever, the other only lit to less than 1/3 of it's normal brightness.I have a Intex 24 X 52 pool and two of these lit it up good enough for our daughters to have fun swimming after dark, but with only one at normal brightness, our pool is a little scary for our girls.I hate to say it, but with only a 50% success rate, unless their quality control improves, I cannot recommend these to anyone.I really wanted to love these too. :(

I was skeptical at first about these lights but the electricity passes through the rubber wall of my pool liner and the light lights up great. I have two of the lights in my pool. The magnets are strong and prevents the lights from sliding down the pool walls. I'd buy them again!

We recently purchased an Intex above ground pool and thought these lights would be a nice addition. The lights are perfect! They attach with great ease and light the pool well. since we did purchase two, I do wished there was an easy way to hook both lights together to avoid having to use two outlets. We had an electrician complete this step for us. I was unsure of the yellow surround but as it turns out, it is a nice contrast on the sides of the pool that allow an easy visual to avoid bumping them unnecessarily. I highly recommend these lights to anyone with an Intex above ground pool.
