Inspiring!
Inspiring book! I like the way the author arranged the chapters. All the topic of each chapter is connected to the next chapter as if it's a flow of story.

Great way of exploring Leadership Qualities
A fascinating and novel way of relating the many qualities required to be a great leader. The original manner of comparing football management and business leadership.I could relate to many aspects of the book and could see both good and bad traits in the manner I conduct myself.Overall an intriguing read exposing top football mangers philosophy on leadership.

The most intetesting ideas in the book are what the Manager's are literaly saying. All the other assumptions made by the writer and the way he linkes them to "Leadership" are not so great. Over all its an interesting read.

A must have for coaches. Lots of good tidbits on leadership. It encourages you to develop your own style instead of following someone else.

Very good book - (even if you're not a soccer fan)
"The manager" was recommended to me by a friend who is a big soccer fan. I am NOT. However, I have always been very interested in what makes a good leader. So I thought I would read it...I really liked it for several reasons- It is very easy to read and the author does not use complicated/ technical business words- It provides tons of cool examples and stories to illustrate leadership points - even better if are a soccer fan- It makes you think of leadership from a different lens than the usual business world. One piece of advice: you don't need to read the chapters in the order. Some are more about "people skills", some are more about "structures/ hard stuff". Depending on your interest, you may want to read some before others.

Excellent and logical insight into the world of football management
As a football coach myself I was eager to get my teeth into this book and I was not disappointed.First off the organisation and structure of the book is fantastic, each chapter leads onto the next in a logical order and is easy to follow. Each of these chapters are packed with in depth and rich information about the world of management from a number of world renowned managers such as Jose Mourinho, Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Carlo Ancelotti. The book offers no jargon, instead all information is specific but easy to follow. The book is broken into 5 sections with 2-3 chapters (based on a specific manager) within those sections. The chapters themselves offer fantastic insight with invaluable reflections from each manager of certain situations they have faced and how they were overcome. This book is a must buy for anyone interested in sport business, sport coaching or just a behind the scenes look at some of their favourite managers.
