Woohoo!! Finally got me a BIG BOY recliner chair!!! :)
Wow! Where has this thing been most my life! I never knew they made "Big & Tall" recliners!First off, I'm 6'1" and somewhere around 405lbs. So many of the reviews made it seem like this thing might be too big even for me but it feels like it was a custom made recliner, just for me!!! :)My feet/legs don't hang way over the edge of the footrest anymore! My head & shoulders don't tower inches above the top of the backrest anymore! This IS A FIRM chair but it has to be firm and sturdy to hold up to the abuse from us fluffy guys (and gals too!). It's still comfortable and the backrest is the most comfortable part. It provides me perfect support and is the softest part of the chair.I'm in love! We're a match made in heaven! I want to marry this chair! (don't judge, it's 2022 and love is love, right?) :)Btw, this is the 4501-19 Rocking recliner! It rocks (if you want it to) when upright with the footrest down. It fully reclines and needs to be a little further away from the wall than the wall saver model which is 4501-190. Amazon sells that too in another listing. I got the chocolate one.I wanted a lighter color but my mother reminded me a dark color recliner won't show dirt as much. Good ol' mother's. Gotta love em. They're so smart. Listen to your mother's people!!This chair was a breeze to carry into the house and assemble solo! It came in 2 pieces and I'm not sure if it's 160-180lbs like the listings say. I swear the top was about 40lbs and the bottom maybe 60-80lbs but I don't have a freight scale haha. There is no additional hardware or tools needed for assembly!Oh, did I mention that I'm disabled and on a fixed income so I probably wouldn't have normally shelled out 700+ for a recliner but Amazon offered 12 monthly payments on this recliner of around 60 a month at 0% interest?? Say what!? Sign me up!Oh, I almost forgot. The Amazon freight delivery was the best! Fast and friendly delivery right to the porch since the box was actually 1" too wide for the front door.

Exactly what I wanted right up until it broke... then the nightmare continues
Let me say that I was really happy with the way that it was easy to assemble and exactly what I wanted in terms of size and comfort.Unfortunately.... within a week I started to notice it had some hitches and wobbles. I investigated and noticed that most if not all of the staples used to join the wood elements together were partial misses where one end of the staple was in and the other was out of the target. One of the cross members had come loose and was causing a slight list to the port which seemed to be getting worse.Look I'm not small but lets say I'm 6 foot and about 280, these chairs are supposed to be designed for much bigger people than that so that shouldn't have been a problem. I'm a builder so I cut a piece to marry onto the piece that came loose. I glued and screwed the two together and reattached it and thought maybe that would solve the problem. Soon after I noticed that other small things were happening which became worse and worse until finally a bolt underneath sheared off and then a spring broke and the chair became almost unuseable and I couldn't see how to fix it. This was over the course of maybe 2 weeks.I initiated a return and refund. Then things got worse. I was sent an email from a company called XPO Logistics with a tracking number and pickup date. I put the item in a box in my driveway. No one picked it up on the pickup date but the tracking info from XPO Logistics said it was picked up. I called Amazon repeatedly and they told me that they can't refund until it returns to facility. Finally... after 3 weeks in my driveway... I called them and refused to get off the phone and over the course of an hour with Amazon customer service intentionally wasting my time in a variety of ways, they issued the refund... or at least said they did however I haven't checked yet. The guy then tells me that since I'm such a good customer they've decided to let me keep the item........ I'm like... yeah but it's broken so now I'll have to take it to the dump which will cost me money. He says "is there anything else I can do for you?" I say no.About 30 seconds later the same guy calls me and says "Sir I understand that you are not satisfied with the situation we resolved for you? Would you like for us to arrange for pickup of the item?" I said "Fine." He said, "Okay wait while we make arrangements." and put me on hold again. I waited a few minutes and hung up.UPDATE 10/26/20Never did hear from them about picking this up. Never heard from Lane in regards to an apology or anything. I bought a more expensive version from another online furniture store, also a Lane recliner. Have had same types of issues. I've had to make small repairs to it just because of poor quality control and assembly workmanship. Things are constantly coming loose, bolts sheering, etc. Overall just terrible quality control, bottom end in terms of workmanship and design in all ways. Will never buy Lane again.
