Signstek 2 Pack Self Closing Door Hinges, Mortise Spring Hinge, 4" x 4" x 1/2" with 5/8" Radius Corners

I was looking for a product to keep our exterior doors closed. The kids have a tendency to leave them open, leading to pet escape attempts, and intrusion by flying insects seeking a new home.Initially, I thought all hinges on each door would need to be replaced. That's not the case: A single hinge is all that's required to close a door. These are heavy duty hinges, well constructed, and they are very easy to install: Remove one of the old hinges (our doors have four, and I chose the 2nd from the top), screw in the new hinge, insert the provided hex tool at top of the hinge and tighten to the desired tension, then, insert the provided pin into the the little hole to keep the tension where it is. That's it! No noise, just a door that closes on it's own.One non-odd note: A couple of our doors required a bit more tension than others, but this was the door's fault - nothing to do with the hinge.Now the odd note: The first order arrived at our door with only the empty box inside the envelope, which had been slit open. I intercepted the envelope as soon as it hit the porch, so this must have been done in transit at some point. Probably thought they were getting an iPhone. Enjoy your hinge, thief!

Great build quality! The adjustment works very well and pretty easy to use. The directions are very obviously translated, but a YouTube video is easy enough to figure out what you need to do. Just make sure to remove the adjustment pin from your old door first before removing so it doesn’t slam on you. You can usually use the same hex tool they give you in the kit to do this. But again, quality is great and much cheaper than the orange or blue home improvement stores. Would recommend.

This was a good replacement for the original spring hinges. The original hinges only required 2 to do the job. There was two reasons why I decided to use three. One it looks silly to have two black and one white hinge and two it closes the door better. I purchased a similar brand but the thickness of the hinge was 2.8 millimeter I could not get them to work with my door without modifying the hinge pocket . The Signstek hinges I purchased the second time around are 2.5 millimeters. They worked with the door and now the world is wonderful once again.

Ever get frustrated that the person in or out of the house doesn’t bother to close the door? These hinges are the solution. Simple to swap out your existing ones, whether steel frame or wood; just be sure about the pattern for the screws. Nice that the screws are color matched to the hinges.

Can't believe that I waited to install 2 of these on our front door. Effortless and dependable. Would buy again.

my door does not shut and my dog has escaped. Put this on and the door goes almost closed.

When you first put in the small pin, the hinges work great and close the door very well. However, after going in and out of the heavy garage fire door, the pins tend to make their way out of the small hole and fall to the ground, this makes the hinge useless because there is no more tension on the hinge. I have replaced the pins they supplied with a bit bigger pin and it seems to work better.
