Something, Something brilliant.
This is great. I enjoy watching Family Guy. The constant references to other films or animated characters is fun, especially when you're a fan of those films and characters.'Airplane','Poltergeist','Indiana Jones' or Tv's 'Star trek'. Also animated shows like Peanuts/Charlie Brown,'King of the Hill' and own brand 'American Dad'.So, when the Family Guy homage to Star Wars came round they were a must to see and own. They don't disappoint. I love the humour. For example when Chris is playing Luke Skywalker. He comes out of his desert home to look upon the two setting suns. The music plays emotionally in the background. He then introduces the orchestra to us that are playing just off screen. Also the animation is superbly done. The dimensional elements of the spaceships or other mechanics; their movement; their realisum is spot on. The affects are so well done for an animated feature. You have to wonder if George Lucas wasn't a tiny bit jealous. He had to create Industrial Light and Magic to create what Seth McFarlane has reproduced on screen at a fraction of the cost and just as realistic. That's progress. There are great on going jokes from the TV series. When the At-at is tripped up in `Something, Something Dark Side' it grips it's leg and groans in pain. Meg is relogated to the bit parts.I thought 'It's a trap' was not as good as the first two, `Blue Harvest' and `Something, Something Dark Side'. I wouldn't have missed it though. The extra stuff added is also great. You get an insight into the series if you are not familiar with it. As a former 'want to be' film maker I also enjoyed the read through extra. It's suprising just how many people are involved in the production considering it is animation. Read throughs are so important and useful when putting a production together. This is a useful add on for other would be film makers as an educational point.

Not for kids or stiffs.
Look, let's just get this clear, first & foremost; this is NOT for children & is even less for those who take life too seriously. If you are of the politically correct persuasion, do not buy or watch this until you manage to lighten up considerably. The comedy racism, sexism, homophobia, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia & general xenophobia portrayed is all done in a purely ironic manner. It is far better to laugh 'at' horrible people & the nasty things they do than to cheer on gun toting, mass killers because they are portrayed as heroes. We live in a world where a bit of onscreen nudity is shunned, but it's fine & dandy to blaze a trail of violence & death for our Sunday afternoon entertainment. The greatest irony is that it will be the biggest fans of the gung ho genre who are the most ardent opponents of the kind of humour depicted in Family Guy. Peter Griffin is a slob who is depicted as a selfish oaf, not a hero. Brian Griffin is a hypocritical drunk who is portrayed as a two-faced, self-centered freeloader, not a hero. Not a single one of the characters whose behaviour is despicable is portrayed as heroic. Quite the opposite is true. Family Guy is a poke in the eye of the hypocrisy of political correctness & a middle finger to the actual racists, sexists, homophobes, anti-Semites, Islamophobes & general xenophobes of the world.

Just as funny as the first one.
Great blu ray movie and one of the highlights of the family guy show. As a fan of both family guy and star wars I was worried they would water eachother down a bit, and a sequel would fall flat but it's actually just as funny and Easter egg filled as the first one. Nice special features. I wish they could do the newer movies or the prequal's.

Family Guy Star Wars trilogy
All three Star Wars films parodied in this boxed set. I had difficulty getting the picture to be true wide screen (to fill my TV screen) - you will need to adjust the picture ratio to stop things looking too fat, too thin, or pixelated. Which is a bit of a shame since you lose that whole cinema screen look. The episodes themselves are OK. Funny in parts. Enetertaining enough anyway!Blue Harvest: As with many Family Guy episodes, they seem to labour the jokes to the point where you get bored and reach for the remote control. Its a shame the editing is not more ruthless - so that one jokes follows another quickly (like in Airplane films, or The Simpsons). Instead you find yourself saying "yes, yes, yes, I get the joke - stop the scene now, its been over a minute - move to the next bit!" There are however two great references to Airplane - and an unexpected nod to Dr Who.Something Something dark side: Not as geat as Blue Hravest - and the humour becomes more vulgar and crude - but that's family Guy for you.Its a Trap: Not bad.Overall - you get a few decent laughs, and they're all worth watching - but don't expect anything too special.

5 Stars
3 in 1.Brought as a gift for the girlfriend who loves Family Guy. Since we've been dating I got her in to Star Wars (which she now also loves). Put the two together and you end up with this. Now she has seen all the Star Wars films these Family Guy versions are a lot easier to relate to and she enjoys them more now.No complaints so can't give it anything less than 5 Stars
