Amazing Value!
I rarely leave reviews, but this one merits it. I produce comedy shows and needed an affordable, reliable spotlight that would do the job—this has not let me down. I’ve been using it for the last 2.5 months and it’s consistently impressed. This IS a pinpoint spotlight, but for reference, I have it placed high in the back of the room about 35 feet from the stage. The largest aperture setting gives about a 7’ circumference lighting on center stage. I’ve also had it up to 75 ft from center stage where it still had about a 6’ circumference. I’ve had the light on for up to 3-4 hours, it does heat up a bit, but it’s still held up fantastically and it’s nothing a small fan wouldn’t solve. The removable bottom plate is super convenient as well, I normally use it to mount the spotlight onto a 8’ tripod. Overall, no complaints. For the price, you can’t beat this light

We use this to center on the hitting mat for our golf simulator and it is absolutely perfect, bright and focused.

Illuminates my dartboard in my Man Cave Perfectly
I was recently given a new dartboard and needed a good way to illuminate the board as the lights in my garage are not that bright. As a result, I went searching for various solutions to accomplish that goal. For my previous dartboard, I used a light mounted just above the board that pointed down on the board. It worked, but not tremendously well. So, I looked at ways of making a better cabinet to use the old light and mount it farther out from the wall to get a better angle to shine on the board. That option proved to not really make sense to me over time. I also looked at lights meant for illuminating big pictures and paintings. However, those seemed to just be more of the same as the other light I already had. Then I discovered this spotlight. However, just one problem . . . I had thought about a spotlight before but shied away from it because of the power constraints and the ability to turn it off and on easily. Either the spotlights needed to be hardwired, needed batteries, or did not come with a remote. Then it occurred to me that I might be able to find something to plug a spotlight into - an upgraded outlet or something - and have a remote for turning it off and on that way. NOTE: Since the spotlight was going to be mounted to the ceiling and use an outlet in the ceiling (what the garage door opener is plugged into, also), I had no way of being able to turn the light on or off when I needed it/didn't need it, unless I climbed up a ladder each time I wanted to use it to plug it in/unplug it. Then I found something at a local Orange & Black hardware store (you know the one) that changed everything. It plugs into an outlet and then you plug a device into it and then the problem is solved. The plug comes with a remote that allows you to turn power on or off and no need for climbing a ladder. Once that problem was solved, I could purchase this spotlight . . . and I did, very happily. As for the light itself, it was very easy to mount to the ceiling. But before I mounted it, I plugged it in and then played with the four-hole disk that makes the spotlight bigger or smaller. I found the size that was just about perfect and then found the right spot on the ceiling and made a mark there for mounting. Then I just used the included hardware for mounting (4 screws and 4 wall anchors) and then put it up on the ceiling. Once in place, I plugged it into the plug I had purchased and then plugged that plug into the outlet. Then I turned it on with the remote and it has worked flawlessly ever since. My dartboard is now illuminated very nicely, and my wife was even impressed at how professional the dartboard looks with the spotlight on it. Regarding the two pictures of the dartboard - One is with all the lights on in the garage, including the spotlight. The other picture is with all the lights off EXCEPT the spotlight and the garage door closed. I was very impressed with how bright this spotlight was and very happy with it. The distance from where the spotlight is mounted to the dartboard is about 12 feet, by the way, for frame of reference. What I like about this Spotlight: 1. Price 2. Brightness 3. Ease of mounting to the ceiling What I didn’t like about this Spotlight: 1. Price (it went down $8 since I bought it) 2. No Remote to turn it off/on Overall, I give this spotlight 4.5/5 stars. I deducted .5 star for the lack of a remote for turning it off and on because it would seem that most people, like myself, are going to mount this to the ceiling and may not have a good way to turn it off/on once it is plugged in without a remote. I do really like how bright this light is and how easy it was to adjust the light to make it the perfect size.

great value, mobility, brightness
this product is great if you are looking for a lightweight and bright light at a great price. this is not a $500 spotlight, but better than american djs 3 or 9 watt light. the best feature is the ability to change the amount of light being thrown at the object. this helps with changing the distance from the light fixture to the object being lit.

Not Bright Enough
I do professional lighting for bands. I bought this because I thought it would be nice to have a lightweight small follow spot. Unfortunately it is only as bright as an average flashlight and had no effect when trying to light up a singer from about 20 feet. It would not cut through even when there was very little front lighting to make any difference.

No voltage rating.
Light weight, cool and effective. No The lamp is delivered with a moulded American three pole power connector, practically unfindable this side of the Atlantic, and this is generally used for 115 V AC. As I had toured the States a fair amount I had a couple in my tool box, but this won't always be the case. Still, I hesitated before feeding 230 volts into it, but it worked. I would appreciate a screw thread (either 1/4 inch BSW or 3/8 inch BSW, for use on lighting stands or mic stands,) into the power supply space, as an option over screwing the unit to a beam or wall. Equally, I would like a holder for a gel frame or a shutter to reduce light levels - it runs cool enough that you wouldn't risk melting filters, or cooking fingers . A lot of light in a small space.

Okay for the money
It is inexpensive so you can’t expect a high powered light beam. Works well in small room settings and produces a relatively clean beam. Bigger rooms (ballrooms) will stretch its capabilities. Build quality is ok but it can be difficult to mount on a tripod or similar stand — you may need to fiddle with mpunting attachments to find the right one.
