Vogue Knitting: Very Easy Knits: The Best of Very Easy Very Vogue

I love that this book has illustrations in full color and symbols for stitch gauges, knitting terms and sizes of knitting needles. The patterns have measurements for different sizes. The instructions are so easy to follow. I can’t wait to finish the Basketweave Pullover and move on to my next project.

If you're a beginner/intermediate knitter looking for garments, most of which will stand the test of time, this is a great book. Yes, there are one or two that are just weird but most are lovely. The broken cable by Calvin Klein is one of my favorites as is the shrug. I got this book at the library before purchasing it and renewed it so often I knew I loved it and had to have it. Although it's too bad that many of the original yarns are no longer available I enjoy shopping for yarn and with all the yarn websites finding substitutes hasn't been a problem. Additionally, it encourages me to be creative both with color and with fibers, turning summer weight garments into winters ones and vice versa. If you value style over trends, this is the book for you.

WOW!!! Am I ever glad I bought this book!!! The emphasis here is on texture as opposed to color (something I much prefer). The designs are exactly what you'd expect from Vogue--beautiful, sophisticated designs that will be wardrobe staples for years to come. The Hooded Poncho is worth the price of the book alone, as is the Fringed Scarf Coat. I also love the men's Textured Pullover, as does my brother who needs a sweater!!! Truly, there's not one "bad" pattern in this book, and I'll be using it for years. And the "used" prices make this even more of a bargain. If you love to knit, buy this book. You'll use it again and again.

Most of the patterns in this book are great "Standards", so it is a good book to have on the shelf. There are a few truly awful sweaters, in my opinion, and I can't figure out why they were included.But overall, the projects are easy and you can subsitute whatever yarn you like if you are careful and check your guage. One note: I bought mine second hand so there was no sheet of errata. I found that the stitch count on the sleeve of the Adrienne Vittadini sweater (on the cover) was incorrect. I made the medium and because I am an experienced knitter I was able to figure out the mistake in the pattern. If there is a sheet of errors that comes with the book, than this is no problem for a real beginner, but it could be confusing.

I bought this as I am making up a basket of knitting items for an auction/event. It's too good to give away...... I might have to buy another copy of it for the auction and keep this for me. Gorgeous!!!!!!!!!

I like the photos. I’m a beginner knitter so this will be put aside. Title should be Timeless Sweaters. I would have liked to see a variety of patterns, such as simple knits for home, or hostess gifts. Patterns here are for experienced knitters.

I didn’t hate it or love it. Many of the patterns I’m not ever gonna make but it did give me ideas on sweater designs I don’t like and ones I do.

I have only knitted shawls and scarves before and am now working on my first sweater from this book. Patterns are gorgeous and seems I will be able to follow instructions to take me to the next level. I purchased a long time ago the Vogue Shawls book and it too is great. Like the vogue books!

I bought this book after reading the reviews and I'm absolutely delighted with it. While some of the 1980's designs are a little dated there are still several which are just bang up to date. Bear in mind that this is an American publication, often using yarns which have long since been discontinued, so you will have to put a little bit of work into substitutes, but this book is so worth the effort for the stylish finish you would expect from Vogue.

Really beautiful patterns in this book. The patterns are ranged from beginner to advanced.

This is a wonderful book. I'd borrowed it from our city library and I wanted my very own copy! Terrific!
